Getting a regear, now I need new spider gears. New carrier or just new spiders?

Getting my regear today, I got a call from the shop saying that my spider gears are messed up and getting meshed together. I knew something was going to come up....

Dude says I should replace them, but he said I needed a new carrier as well. This is what he told me to get OMIX-ADA 16503.67 - Omix-Ada Front Differential Case Assembly 3.73 to 4.88 Ratio for 07-11 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with Dana 30 - Quadratec.

I talked to a buddy of mine and he said that if I need spider gears, I shouldn't need a new carrier;said its unlikely that the carrier is mesed up. I talked to Northridge and they said the spider gears would only be 125.

Now I gotta call the mechanic tomorrow and confirm if I need a brand new carrier or just the spider gears, but Id like a little 411. my buddy said the mechanic may recommend a brand new carrier since it would be easier for him to swap out carriers instead of putting new spiders in my existing carrier but its obviously more cash. Any thoughts?
