microage97 Ok doors cam off with much hassle using the wrechet strap method. They where certainly stuck! Thanks Everyone for their awesome help!

jkjeeper06 Here is how I got mine off the first time:

Cut a 4x4 so its 1/2 taller than the distance of the bottom of the door to the floor. Open door. Lift rocker panel to raise edge of door and put 4x4 under it. Hold door. Have someone easily step on the jeep being careful not to jump. It should pop right off. Make sure the block is close to the hinge, not the outside. You don't want it to torque the hinges

microage97 Ya hit the hing with more PB blaster and swung doors a bunch still no budge... sigh.. Going to try the ratchet strap method next.

Actually, it was you who didn't read. He already snipped the bundle. The door is stuck in the hinge.

I got the Bestop lube and it works wonders for me.

ChaseRedJK also.. i need to get some stuff to help my zippers out on my top.. any suggestions? doesn't bestop sell some zipper lube?

True, I need to get some new stuff.. WD40 also attracts dirt slightly.

ChaseRedJK I had a hard time getting my passenger door off the first time. I bought my Jeep with 20k miles on it and had the doors off within the first couple weeks I owned it. I believe it was the first time they had been off because I really struggled with the passenger door.

I just hit the seam in the hinge with some wd40 and work the door open and closed several times.. let it set.. hit it again.. repeat..

DO NOT under any circumstances try to use anything to aide in removing the door such as a jack.

You should be able to get them off after a good dose of wd40.. make sure and have a good grip on the door though.. almost dropped my when it finally broke loose.

I always put just a little bit of wd40 on my hinge pin when I put my doors back on and they slide right out the next time I go to take them off. Always put your hinge bolts back on.. keeps the dirt out.

Dont give up man... all Jeeps are made to go doorless

Yep I did, he also said that after cutting the wires he still couldn't get the doors off after removing the bolts... Just trying to help...

microage97 Thanks guys for all the help. Yup tried all kinds of angles from almost closed to almost 100% open. I don't think they have ever been off and there appears to be some rust bubbling the paint a bit on the hing knuckle. MN is horrible when it comes to road salt. I made sure I went through the car was a couple times a month to get it off, but maybe that was too much.

TigheK Interesting. Had the doors off my 2012 JKR recently. It has all the things that aren't really needed; power locks, power windows, etc... All of the wiring was done through the single factory connector.

microage97 Ok I snipped the wire after disconnecting the battery. Turns out that it is actually 6 wires in the bundle. Taped each of the wires up and disconnected the molex connector on the driver's side.

Couldn't get the doors off however. Removed the nuts and they will not budge a bit. Used a little PB blaster on the hinges. Looks like they have had a bit of MN road salt on them...

microage97 Ok it has a bunch of other wires going to it and then there is the pass side which is zip tied for a ways and I can't tell what it is doing after it goes into the center section of the dash. So I figure a new quick connect would make life easier.

microage97 Ok found out some more info. On the drivers side the wire is actually 3 wires (Red, Black, Purple) that go into a factory moles along with a bunch of others. So it appears this jeep wasn't really meant to go doorless (face palm). I will look into maybe a 3 wire molex or insulted female to male spade connectors or some such.

woansleftpeg Start by cutting open the sheath and seeing how many wires are in there (but please, disconnect the negative terminal on your battery first so that nothing, including you, goes bang). That will tell you the gauge, or at least give you a good idea as to the gauge, and that way you'll know which connectors to get.

I would be surprised if it's a single cable underneath that sheath.

microage97 Ok I think it is just one solid wire as opposed to a couple of wires in a sheath. I will check out some shielded quick connectors.

woansleftpeg They're just wires. Disconnect the battery, cut them, add a shielded quick connector to each one, then reconnect the battery and see what happens (or doesn't happen) with the wire(s) disconnected.

microage97 Thanks Guys. Ok the harness only tells the computer when the door is open or not. IE the radio doesn't shutoff now when key is removed and door opens, but this wire does run / signal the other lock as I have power locks for the keyless entry. It is a standard option, but seems they didn't figure that someone with keyless entry would remove the doors. I have felt up all the way that I can and no connector to where it goes into something under the dash. I also took off a couple of screws that hold the lower door pocket plastic thingie on and nope as well. Stumped.

relyt Sounds like an aftermarket alarm to me. You may have to cut the wires on both sides and add a quick disconnect depending on how it is installed.
