Well Ilikeguns (so do I) anyways
tell me more about this waterproof fan motor. ?? I heard rumor of this type of fan but lacked finding a match. That would by y I didn't go that route . Plus my interweb skill could use improvement. (Lol) took me like forever to research (lack of web access doesn't help).
Also is trere any knowledge out there in our community about 2,3 or even 4 core radiator for the 11'.

|ilikeguns||was there a reason you didn't upgrade to the SPAL waterproof one? No holes for it to gather mud, water etc.. Wish i could get one for my 3.6 but no dice.. and replacement fans are expensive for the 12-13s|

Burned up fan motor.
So new fan took all of 10 min to change out Dan motors. Cleaned up my k&n air cone. New 60A fuse and now it's like a new rig again. Thanks for the input fellow jeepers.

Okay I'm digging into the project got just the motor. So any good time saving advice out there?
How is the can attracted to the motor? Do I need a pulley?

I'm ordering. A fan been throw all the trouble shooting and well is the fan. And surprise I was out playing in some ugly spring mud, snow, gunk & junk.
Was hoping for the cheaper route!!!! But WE all know its RARELY that. Hahaha.

|twarner776||this just happened to my brother in law with his 2010. Kept blowing the 60A fuse. Replaced the fan motor and problem is solved. It would even overheat at HWY speeds when the temp got into the 80's.|

|crawlin_archer||Do you have any other codes set in the TIPM or any Engine Coolant Temp sensor DTCs? If you have other DTCs for those things you have to diagnose those first for this particular code you have. If there aren't any other codes set it says to check all the wiring from the TIPM to the fan for any issues. First thing ot tells me to do is actuate the fan thru the PCM actuator function to see if the fan works. If the fuse is blown a TIPM cooling fan circuit high code & this code. But if the fuse keeps popping you got a problem with the fan or the wiring. Probably got junk in the brushes of the fan motor from slopping around in junk & it's causing excessive resistance making it pull to much power to spin the fan would be my guess w/o being able to look at it myself & hook my pod to it.|

Po480 fan circuit 1 is the error code I've extracted from this beast!!
So I replaced 60a fuse to fan circuit.
Witnessed the fan cycle on/off (ran till temp dropped the. Turned off).
Warmed the motor till the fan came on a second cycle. As the motor cooled and the fan was shifting from hi to low the 60A fuse smoked!!!

|Silverton34||So is it still getting hot on the highway, in town or both? How hot does it get, all thw way to red? If its reading anything over normal the fan should be running and it's obvious by the noise when you walk to the front of the Jeep. Can you see through the radiator fins so you KNOW there is no mud in there? Lots of questions but the answers are important before you start wiring fans.|

Blower 60amp fuse for the rad fan is where we r at right now!!! I hard wired to fan to the batt and the fan worked. Rpl'd 60A fuse. (Founded it at o'rielys. Was shorter in size than factory fuse but 60A).
Investigation still n progress to solve this issue.
Tried the rad test for head gasket no issue.
Will they be able to do a diagnostic test at auto zone or some auto part store???

When it is cold take the rad cap off and start it. As it starts to warm up, watch for bubbles coming up through the radiator. If it bubbles and doesn't stop its a blown head gasket.
I've seem a 3.8 jk with a blown head gasket and you would never guess that was it was. Never over heated, only ran slightly slightly rough.

11' OVER HEATING!!! radiator
So I went mudding and bucking throw snow drifts few weeks ago. Now I'm having probs w/ over heating, boiling radiator fluid, lights and bells, red line temp gauge!!!!
Changed both thermostat & rad. Cap. And yes. I washed out the rad. core good. I keep a clean wagon and hoarse.
Check engine light extinguished for a short period of time after rad. Cap replaced (was bad) then was back on again. Check engine will not come on on a cold morning 30•/40•. But after warm up, hello check engine light again! (Dammit)
Soo I'm thinking its my fan!!
Haven't had the time to hard wire it to the batt. yet to check ( hope to have the time soon!).
Any suggestions or similar problems fellow jeep ppl? Looking for some insight here.
