first4x4toy [QUOTE="Jus Jim;16399529"]If you follow this link, at the bottom of the page are forest service maps. There are quite a few service roads in pisgah and pisgah grandfather mountain. Nothing technical on most but still nice scenic mountain drives.
More to do around here than you can cover in a week, good excuse to come back again.

Anyone up for a spin around pisgah today i know weather is not ideal but still a good day

That's what I can remember off the top of my head.
We generally go to Highland around Christmas time to get some Cold Mountain.

Wife and I went into one place, can't remember the name, but I think it was run by 2 women "partners". They seemed like men haters, and their IPA tasted like dirt. We dumped out beer out and left.
Ok. Twin leaf and burial beer newish. Really like burial .wicked weed opened the Funkatarium. Pour tap room is new. Self serve by the ounce. 41 taps. If you get to sylva innovation is kick ass too.

You can hit HC and Gulches pretty easy. Uharrie and Durhamtown is a bit out of the way. Especially if your staying in Asheville. We like the forest roads that were mentioned. NOTHING hard but just nice to get out in the woods. Uharrie and Durhamtown is going to a be a 3ish+ hour drive for you each way!

If you INTO the driving thing, I would hit WindRock in TN. Well worth the drive. MUCH larger than Gulches.

Of course we will drive on the Parkway and scenic roads such as that.

We will probably hit Gulches on the way home since it is only open F-Su.
Any other ideas?

I have pretty much stock '14 Willys JK. I'll have a winch and recovery gear, but don't plan on doing anything too terribly difficult if we are by ourselves.

What's the weather end of April, First of May? Hoping to have top down most of the time we are there.

Thanks!
Where is home?

Firehawk2069 New to wheeling, stock 15 jk, looking for something to do with it. I'd be in for some beginner trails.

Jus Jim It really is. We had the trail to ourselves. Little mud, little ice and splendid scenery.
