RatherBNarizona good luck with the wind, it will be pushing that thing all over

kg4kpg It's all junk. Give it to me and I'll dispose of it for you. Envy here. I keep telling the wife I want to sell the house and retire on a 40-50 foot live-aboard. She says I'll be single if I do... Hmmmm

jjseel Made it back! I think the billboard comment was the closest answer. Going down the ICW, I went about 10 miles without touching the wheel, then the wind came up when we got into the Bay and it was time to go to work! Random pics of pelicans to be posted later!

erickpl If you are in the ICW, you are contending with currents that flow in and out of the accesses to the ocean. I know near Pensacola, Destin, and Orange Beach the currents can get NASTY going through those inlets.

It wouldn't surprise me if current was part of it at all, but that thing looks like a floating billboard and will catch ANY breeze...

whitebuffalo does it have hydraulic steering? maybe air in hydraulics? could cause it to wander........
05-19-2009 12:50 PM
jjseel The only times I've driven it was in the Galveston Bay shipping channels, but we are going to Rockport...out of the bay turn to starboard, go about 200 miles...

Scout x2. Could also be a bent control arm.

4point Check the Track bar, if not that check alignment.

tiny terror Too much of that boat is above the water. Looks tippy.

ccain Maybe you should ask these two:

Oh... OK, maybe not.
05-18-2009 03:16 PM
erickpl With that profile, could wind be playing a role?

We talking lake, river, or ocean? Currents may play a role too. Between current and wind, I could see what it'd be hard to control.

skeeter loaded too heavy in the bow.

jcf I can help but I think I need to come with you to evaluate the problem

Boaters...

Anyone familiar with the 42' Present? I have to drive one next week for a 4 day trip. The last time I was on it, it was terribly difficult to keep straight (step-father said I would get used to it, but he almost got run over by a tanker). I can't imagine this handling is normal. A little help? (Pic is not ours, but the same)
