AaronS Thanks everyone!

I started looking around for one for me now.
I'm looking at years 90 to 2000. I see 97 starts a new generation. Is there any advantages or disadvantages to one or the other gens??
I like the look of the round headlights of the 97+'s better but if there are no advantages I'm thinking maybe I should stick to the same gen that I already have and be able to "mix & match" parts.
Are the tops (hard & soft) all interchangeable?

New wrangler owner, first jeep.

Long time Toyota (4runners & Land Crusiers) owner but Just bought my first jeep a few days ago, 94 wrangler.
Actually I bought the jeep for my daughter who is turning 16 in a couple months but I've been playing with the jeep and am loving it! I'm actually thinking about buying one for myself!

Already requested catalogs from jcwhitney and quadratec but looking forward to reading and learning here.
I live in eastern PA and there are not many places to go off road around here so any mods I do will be geared more toward expedition style rather than a crawler.'s a 94 4cyl 5speed with 194k. Bought it from the original owner, pretty much stock but he gave me a best top soft top, bikini top, duster, and wind jammer. Has a tuffy center console with alpine CD player, he also gave me a Haynes manual, a locking collar that goes around the steering column and a bag type thing that's attached to the tailgate (made by best top) and also a bike rack that hooks on the spare tire.
The frame is solid. There is a couple rust spots, driver side fender, drivers side quarter panel right at the back of the flare and one spot the was fixed on the drivers side rocker panel. Also a dent on the front of the drivers side fender and the bumper is pushed back a little.
Overall I think I got a good deal at $2100.

Here some pics.
