Riccochet Yeah, that's not right at all. I sling on my truck all the time and just wipe it off. Even if it sits for a couple days in the sun it still wipes right off. Something up with your paint.

black betty2012 See if warranty will cover it. Might be a defect in the paint.

Things I have just tried in the last 30 minutes. Acetone (very small amount - Plastic...yep)..Gasoline, Paint thinner, CA debonder, brake cleaner and starting fluid. Nothing..Now its likely my Jeep will explode in the garage tonight, but I did wash it off and wax it. No signs of paint damage other than the tire goo sling. What kind of tire shine is this stuff. Actually it looks great on the tires, but this is some really crappy stuff. Im glad I was able to get it off the doors and other steel surfaces.

I will try this...I would think goof off or denatured alcohol would have taken it off. You assume I might freak out, but knowing I have options (line-x the damn things) I am willing to try it.

Wow, I would not have thought something like tire shine would stain the fenders beyond repair.

Riccochet Is your paint waxed? Any time I've ever had sling with Wesley's it's wiped right off. No staining.

pepatrick Yep..edited my post to show what I have tried.

zerinS4 Have you tried clay bar to remove the spots yet?

Line-x covered fenders flares and grill. Please post pics if you have done this.

I used Black Magic tire wet on my tires yesterday. Do NOT use this stuff. I will be going back to Aerospace 303. It left sling stains all over the side of the jeep and fenders. I was able to get the stains off the doors with goof off, but I cannot get it off the fender flares.

I have tried clarbar, polishing compound, lite rubbing compound (which works but takes about 5 minutes per spot), vinegar (its acidic) and various other products and no luck. Im not too happy about this as you can imagine, but I also like to find the silver lining...so read below.

So..this brings us to my next possible mod.

Line-X the fender flares and grill in black with the UV coating. The Line-X guy said he could do it for a couple of hundred bucks if I remove the flares.

I know people have done this but I have not see pictures on the JK Unlimited. Has anyone done this and are you happy with it. Please post pics and comments.

And yes, I expect Black Magic to cover the cost of spraying the flares. Probably a lot cheaper to do it this way than have them repainted white.
