fireron They show two styles on the website on just how the bumper wraps around into the rear wheel flares. I wonder which one is for production.

Circa1973 Update: I asked the guys at 4 wheel parts when they were getting this bumper. Dan said, late July, early August. And yes, it will run around 1k. They have one on their SEMA Jeep with the jerry cans and Hi-lift jack. It looks really well built and sturdy. I'm on the list to get one, can't wait!

No, they aren't. I have a Smittybilt XRC MOD bumper on my 2013 and two bolts didn't line up on the bull bar install. I have a Smittybilt SRC JK rear bumper with zero issues.

Of note, my Poison Spyder Crusher Flares had many more problems lining up and are all missing at least one bolt that was never going to line up.

Both bumpers have taking serious abuse rock crawling with zero issues. My front XRC took a head on going over an obstacle at night and it didn't even chip the paint.

It is greater than 2% of those buying aftermarket bumpers that are looking for greater protection. So, if you are looking at upgrading the stock setup of a jeep then departure and protection seem reasonable. Jeep advertises its capabilities, including aproach, departure, and breakover angles extensively, inlcuding in tv commerials. It doesn't seem unreasonable that "upgrading" a part that may "downgrade" the "Jeep Experience" may not be what someone wants to do. You just spent alot of money on something that was """"Trail Rated"""". Oh god I hate that term!

Rock crawlers are not the only ones that face obstacles where this could get in the way. But you are right this would be no isue for a mall crawler.

Oh and the name Smitty Built suggest it is not ment for rock crawling .

Thoughts? I like it, I just don't know how crazy I am about having the spare tire so far off the tailgate.

Smittybilt XRC Atlas rear bumper system

I contacted Smittybilt last week to ask when the new Atlas bumper system would be released and they provided the following response.

"According to R&D the bumper will be ready to ship by late August. Sorry for the inconvenience! Thanks for your interest in Smittybilt."

I also contacted RebelOffRoad because they have it listed on their site for pre-order and this was their response.

"We are waiting for them to release it at this time, we are told it is coming soon."
