I remember you had plastidipped your muffler and exhaust, I was wondering how that has help up? Also, any tips for me if I chose to do it this week?

|BMWJ08||Wow great build thread Tyler! I have a Black 2014 JKRU thanks for the inspiration man! When you went with the Rancho 3 inch lift did you change gears? My Rubi came stock with 4.10's am torn between a 2.5 Inch and now your 3 inch that you shared on your thread one of the deciding factors between the 2 was whether I would have to mess with gearing? I appreciate any input that you have on this matter. Great looking Rig Man!|

|UgaTyler||I painted my headlight bezels this afternoon. I was checking the connection on one of the lights and then I just spontaneously decided to do it. I have considered doing this several times and I have even considered painting them red but ultimately I decided it would look best black. I can't believe I waited so long to do this. Before and after.|

i got my front aluminum Genright fenders in a few weeks ago and today I ordered the rear fenders. I can't wait to get these in and send them off to get powder coated or painted (still deciding).
The Jeep is about to get a transformation.

|MudRunner||I think I may have seen you on Highway 10 in Athens this afternoon. You let off a big wave and I completely missed it. In case this was you, I'm returning the wave. If not, ignore my comment. Sorry for cluttering your build thread but I hate to miss a wave.|

|Kodanja||Superbly done! I'm just about ready to purchase a Rubicon Hard Rock. Black was my first choice, but I'm not sure I can commit to keeping it clean and polished. Do you need to maintain the paint to keep swirls from showing up? How has the paint been holding up over the past year? White is my second choice with black accents....ah, maybe red accents! Thanks for taking the time to post all those great mods!|

It's hard to see in this picture but I trimmed my pinch seams this afternoon. With a reciprocating saw (sawzall) and a dremel, it really wasn't that hard. Trimming the Rubi rail was much tougher than the pinch seam. I was surprised at how tough those Rubi rails are. I ended up cutting about 4" off the Rubi rail and then angling the pinch seam accordingly. Took me longer to get the Rubi rails on/off (had to loosen my ace rails) than it did to make the cuts.
Hopefully I will get the "go" to order the other half of my Genright fenders this weekend.

Genright Tire Carrier
I installed the Genright Aluminum Tire carrier this evening. Install was very easy and went smooth with no setbacks. How many times can you say that????
Tire carrier looks awesome!

I have started the painting process on the tire carrier. I was going to powder coat it but then decided to save $200 and do it myself with rustoleum truck bed liner. Recently a friend wanted me to paint his bumper with this product and it turned out great so... The decision was made.
Attached below are a few of the pics I snapped during the process.
First I used some 400 grit sandpaper and scuffed the tire carrier up some. Next I used mineral spirits to clean the carrier good making sure not to touch it with my bare hands. I put 3 coats of self etching primer on and then 5 coats of bedliner. It's hard to tell by the pictures but the carrier looks fantastic. Now if I bang it on something I will be able to fix it myself.
Hope to install this Friday.
