|TOK||I'm doing the lift on mine first and driving it around for a few days. Sure, it will look goofy but I want to make sure the lift itself doesn't throw any wobble or weird behavior at me before I add larger tires to the mix.|

|convict27||You can do 35's on the stock setup but as I said before, I would not recommend wheeling it. I did not have any rubbing on my flares but I did have a little bit of rubbing on the front plastic airdam at full steer. I also trimmed my pinch seam to give me a little more clearance for the rear. That was an easy fix and took all of 5 minutes to remove it. When I was running mine, I did not have aftermarket bumpers or rock rails. I ran it this way for about 2 weeks while I waited on my Metalcloak lift to arrive.|

For the guys that are burying their 35s in the fenders, two questions:
What shocks are you running? What's their collapsed length/extension?
Did you change/add bump stops for the new shocks/tires?
To the OP: I don't mind looking ridiculous. I got the lift first because I knew that would be the single biggest improvement to my performance...although the timing on the lift and bumpers was pretty close - that's more a judgement call.

|DaK||If you get the wheels and tires first, just leave 'em in the garage till you get the lift installed. They will be motivation for making the lift happen faster. Would seriously considering bumping that lift up and inch if you want to wheel the jeep in the rocks and stuff. I have a RK 3.5" X factor and routinely put my wheels into my fenders on all four corners while rock crawling. This was solved by installing genright's. Keep in mind that by going 35's your acceleration on the street is going to be hampered till you change your gear ratio.|

|Jtyson||I bought my tires and wheels first (285/70r17) and then bought my 2.5 lift about a month later. Really would have wished I would have waited to get some 35'. If I could do it again, I wouldn't mind dipping my stock wheels and buying the 35' along with the lift. Then I purchased my bumper. Just depends on whether you can save your money|

|rics1997||If you put on 35's with no lift, you better drive like grandma. I have 2.5" in lift (Actually 3" but with heavy bumper winch it like a 2.5") and I hit a big pot hole and it busted my front fenders loose. I had to add flat fenders even with 2.5" lift. So I wouldn't ever recommend putting 35's on a stock Jeep.|

|convict27||Get your wheels/tires and lift and do them at the same time. If you can't afford to do that and the money is burning a hole in your pocket, go ahead and get the front bumper. If not then save until you can do the lift and tires at the same time. You can put the 35's on without the lift as long as you have correct back spacing, but I don't recommend doing any wheeling. It will be fine for normal on-road driving.|

What order do I do things?
Turns out that my end of fiscal year went pretty well, and I'm about to get a big chunk of change in my next pay packet. As a result I'm going to be able to do the three big projects across the course of the summer - wheels, lift and front bumper - but I'm not going to be able to do them all at once. What's the best order in which to do them? I want to do what seems to be the fairly standard combination - 35s with 2.5" lift. If I do the lift before I have the wheels, it will look a bit silly with the stock rims. If I do the wheels first, they'll rub. If I do the bumper first, I'm concerned that the extra weight will cause problems with the ride.
