|reno92||I'm running Borla headers with Flowmaster cat back. Good sound, and more important better performance. As said, you need backpressure in these small motors, straight pipes are for big block motors.|

|morvayryan||I have a Flowmaster 40 on my 2.5L and it sounds great. Sounds deep, aggressive and can get pretty loud once you give it some gas.|

|wakeboard236||I am running with headers and a dynomax exhaust. Sounds very good and get a good back pressure ("over-run") sound when coasting down while still in gear|

I would skip the cutout. A 4.0l doesn't sound good with straight pipes, so it won't sound good with a cutout. It would also get rid if backpressure, which means a drop in torque. It'd be super loud in the cab and be very annoying too.
Now, that said, I love the Flowmaster style on the 4.0l. I run a Thrush Welded, which is a Flowmaster clone. It runs about $35 compared to $90 for the real thing. It gives it an awesome, throaty rumble.
I know exactly how you feel, since I'm 18. I love loud pipes, but too loud on an inline six isn't good. Save the glasspacks and straight pipes for V8's.

Yo I got a 95 4.0L sahara wrangler
Exhaust is rusty with multiple rust pinholes all over the muffler and cat. The headers look okay though.weird I know. First of all im 18 so this jeep is the first real car ive had that ive done anything too
Im asking for opinions on exhaust
Ive heard many good things about magnaflow, flow master, borla and even banks exhaust for a jeep i also know alot of you may have heard about cherry bomb, i k ow to stay away from glasspacks but cherry bomb also makes a muffler called the "extreme" muffler...its verry loud...what are your opinions on each brand or does name even matter?
Also ive heard about a qtp electric cutout....
My whole deal is I love loud exhaust but ive never driven in one and never experienced "drone" I my thought is that I would ignore it until I foud that qtp cutout....I mean it sounds perfect.....you can controll the volume of your exhaust why not?
If anyone out there has had experience with cutouts you are open for feedback...
I realise that if an engine shuts off with a straight pipe(ive been told) it sucks cold air I to the valves and can warp them....I just assumed I would have to be careful and just close the cutout before I shut the engine off to fix that issue.....are there any other issues with a straight pipe other than noise...duh...and I know its technicaly illegal but I mean I really dont care I dont live in an emmisions address anyways.
Anyways anyone is open for feedback on anything I wrote above
