kyjeep Buy relocating the bolt hole I meant in the frame. I took a plasma cutter and cut the round tube out that the bolt goes through and oblonged the hole in the frame. After that I moved the tube down in the hole where it needed to be and bolted the steering box up. With it bolted up I tacked the tube in place and then removed the box. With the box removed I welded the tube back in place just like factory. Hope this description isn't too confusing.

kyjeep I just put an 04 frame under my 00 sport. Jerry has told you right. The steering box is different but I found it easier to cut the locating notch off of the top of my steering box and relocate the front bolt hole. Buying the new model steering box was going to require the new model lines and pump also. You will also need the transfer case skid and bolts to go with the new frame. The old model isn't wide enough and the bolts are too big. Otherwise everything is the same.

Jerry Bransford The main difference I am aware of is the bolt pattern for the steering box. Jeep switched away in 2003 from the Saginaw steering box you have now to a Mercedes steering box which has a different bolt pattern. Probably the easiest fix would be to just use a 2003 or newer OE steering box.
