Welcome and congrats on your new toy! We typically meet once a month, I think it is the second Sunday of the month. N2jeepn can post the details, I think we are meeting tomorrow. There are regularly posted runs on this site, I typically post a run here and there too- however I have been long overdue. I'll have to change that soon enough-

Anyhow, just stay tuned and we can show you a time or two with your rig!

take care

ORDutch Thanks NWHoneyBadger - I am not so worried about scratches - I will be purchasing a jeep after all - it's a badge of honor :-) thanks again when I get my jeep that will be my first run!

I am not buying a jeep for the look or gas mileage LOL. I want some fun and a new hobby - just need to make sure I keep it road worthy for my family.

Thanks again,
H

PS. I currently own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee - I am waiting on a buy back from Jeep which should be somewhere around the 18th. I am super happy with the dealer NW Jeep and their service department (Ian my service advisor rocks!) But Jeep really did a number with the 8 speed transmission - have had it in 8 times now for harsh (I mean look in the rear view mirror 'did someone hit me' shifts from 2nd to 1st. The steering clonks and the 5" Uconnect is unable to keep my phone paired without resetting the radio. Bottom line for a 40K vehicle this should not be the case oh and they had to send it to a body shop to fix two crooked doors and rear hatch miss alignment. The dealer service department agrees with me - they even replaced the valve body - the comment 'jeep is still figuring this 8 speed out' makes me a little nervous. Bottom line I don't trust it - the replacement will be a rubicon with a manual transmission I think after everything I would be happier with this. I used to in my youth (I am 39 now) ride around in Alaska off roading and LOVED it. anyways - a little history there.

I'm interested. I usually get off work around 430 or 5 ish. And I've never been to TSF. Is any body that is going ham radio? As I don't have a cb yet but I have my handheld ham.

From Washington: Take I-5 to Exit 306, stay towards N Denver Ave. Take 1st left on to N Victory Blvd (stay on N Victory Blvd it will become N Whitaker Rd). Shari's will be on the Left side just pass Burger King.

From Oregon: Take I-5 to Exit 306B, take a right turn on N Victory Blvd (1st Stop Light). Stay on N Victory Blvd it will become N Whitaker Rd). Shari's will be on the Left side just pass Burger King.

Please bring your own chairs, and water (4 1/2 hours is a lot of walking around time). You are also welcome to bring a popup shade cover.

This years event will be bigger than last years and is open to all Off-Road Vehicles.

This is a great event for a great cause. There will be many sponsors this year bringing their products. There is a $10 cost per ticket this year.
I am not clear. Is this event going to take place at Shari's, or it that just the starting point of a group ride?

We are looking to meet some wrangler folks to go play with!

Hey H, welcome to the club.
Browns camp/TFS is a rather large trail system off hwy 6 about 1.5 hours from Portland. They have a range of difficulty from easy to nope, not gonna do that. Your rubicon will be good for the easy and intermediate trails stock without a problem. Start on easy, and go slow until you gain some confidence. If your worried about putting a few scratches in the paint, then you should re think hitting the trails cause you will likely be driving through some brush and branches along the trails. Often people put events together if you would like to join. Have fun with the new jeep!

NWHoneybadger Anyone out there have a set of JKU rubi or X fenders that they would be willing to part with? Wife won't let me chop up the pretty painted fenders.

AdventureDad There was some confusion out regarding the price... last year it was $10 per vehicle. This year it is $10 per person (Kids 12 and under are free). We had a blast last year. Hope to make it this year, too (it all depends on the schedules)
