Rodger L We've been talking about doing that one for a while. My wife was up there using the Pipeline construction days and talks about how beautiful it was. I work with guys who have hunted up that way. X2 about the cb and tools/supplies to take care of problems. Good luck and have fun! We want pics when you go!

Advjeep I have never done the dalton, but haul roads where I worked in northern Alberta and BC can be dangerous if you're not equipped right. Make sure you have a VHF radio programmed with the haul rd frequency to call out where you are and to hear where everyone else is. A cb helps for short range bs'ing with the truckers. Also have enough tools to deal with anything that arises. And make sure you're first aid kit is well stocked for just about anything, you never know what could happen.

And most of all have fun and stay safe! Drive the rules of that road an you'll make it safely!

Dalton hwy. (Alaska hual road) trip

Planning on doing the Dalton next month. Anyone done it and have some tips? I've read the BLM brochure (pretty much a tourest ad warning you not to do it) and The Milepost (worth the $30 for anyone planning a trip up here. I live here and use it all the time) Looking for a little more on the ground, been there, done that experience.
