laredo I started preparing for cold weather by flushing my cooling system, replacing all heater/radiator hoses, replaced thermostat, sealed cowl and got recirculating air.

The PO did the taillights on mine, but when I get told that real jeeps have round headlights I come right back with "yup and they have "square" taillights too!" They have the reverse lights built in and they are super bright which is real nice when backing up at night.

Beer Belly Looked at it. Had a beer, and pee'd next to it. All in all, a good Jeep day. Nothing broke.

livenlearn You could go with the Saavy Off-road LED taillights. Looks good and much better than stock. I have pictures somewhere of when I installed mine. Not sure how to get them here from the thread in my signature.

I'm jealous..had to put my soft top on...had it off again for a day on Friday but the rain came back today. I think instead of gutting stock taillights, could just put LED bulbs in.

I did it this way intentionally, when I cut the holes on my '90 for round LED tails, I ended up off a bit, one side was lower then the other...

I ended up hiding it by breaking it up with rear gas cans, but it wasnt right, and always bothered me...

After it was totaled, I swore I wouldn't make that mistake, and left it to the armor builder....
The black one is the Jeep I have now...
And I re-used/re-built the gas can holder to work on this Jeep....

Thanks, I was a bit skeptical after the first can or two, but after 6 cans it was looking pretty good. I just washed it with a solution of dish soap and water, let it dry, taped it off, and sprayed away. Rustoleum "Universal" flat black.

Thanks, glad you like it! Putting that little section back in is more of a bracing for that vent neck coming out of the tank. The tank is pretty stiff right there, so I'm not so sure it's actually needed. But it's easy enough to put a small section back in for a little added insurance. As for leaving it a bit longer, being that the tube was originally like 10" long. I'm sure extending it a few inches into the tank can't hurt. I've never had any issues of any kind doing this mod as I demo'd it.

Also, You could have cut you a fuel pump access hole while you had the tank out. I've had my pump out a couple of times. I don't need to drop the tank to do it anymore. Cut the hole big enough to where the fuel pump assembly comes out. Cover it with a metal plate w/RTV around the edges.

Put gas in this morning, no issues, but like I said I hadn't in a very long time. I think it has a lot to do with how sensitive the pumps at the station are. I say this because, when I was having lots of trouble, some pumps were less trouble than others. This is an easy mod, takes less than an hour, so it's worth a shot.

I also did the RE 2.5, I gained 4 inches but my springs were past flat.
