This is awesome!! Don't stop waving! I don't know of anyone who won't at least wave BACK to JKs even if they don't wave to them! It's more just we see a trend in not getting waves back from people who don't "get" driving a Jeep so it's not worth the bother than it is about snubbing the people in JKs who are stoked to be driving a jeep! I wave back to anyone who initiates, and I'm definitely learning that in my neck of the woods it's just as likely a female driver or BEASTLY rig won't return a wave as a JK so my new rule is to wave back if it's initiated, and otherwise just wave when I see my jeep being eyeballed by another jeep driver - if a JK or female driver doesn't look like they recognize that they're passing another jeep I don't bother - they either don't "get" it or they don't see me and either way I'm not likely to get a wave return

Michel347 I was in Turks and Caicos last week and rent a JK while we were there. Saw a couple of other Wranglers, not sure if it's because they don't see too many on that small Island, but you should have seen their waves, they get really exited, they were almost coming out of their Jeep to wave, half seated, half standing-up, one hand out by the window the other over the windshield, ... I was so surprised when I saw the first one getting so exited that I forgot to wave back, he must have been really dissapointed, ...lol

1monday ooo ooo ooo...I got a wave today!!! ...from a modded TJ in the yuppie side of town (I think that's why I never get waves...I'm either in the hood, or in yuppieville...no waves from either crowd, not that there are any Jeeps in the hood (sorry, no offense meant to anyone living in the aforementioned places))

YES!!! I knew it! Thank you, Jeepalicious!! And I would return your wave everytime.

But seriously it's awesome to see how many people here do wave. I am not kidding when I say one of the things I enjoy most about driving a jeep is waving at other jeeps. I'm waving at everybody!

Pittsburghwrangler Yesterday I waved to a jacked up JK that I see around here all the time. He always waves back and he did yesterday... but so did the girl in the Malibu in front of him! Lmao I guess she thought I knew her but it just made me laugh.

They usually do. However, we will be getting vanity plates in September of 2015. I wish it was sooner...I'd get "FK U QBK".

It's entirely possible that one who didn't wave today waved the last 3 times and this was just one of those times where it didn't happen for any number of reasons. Meh. I'm waving anyway.

I wave regardless...but only to other Wranglers.

I was working in Ottawa for a year and a half before moving back here end of March. Good trails there or close by?

I may be heading up this weekend.

Yeah don't give up...I have an '04 TJ and have come to "expect" not to get waves from the stocker JKs/ JKUs.....(even though my wife drives one and my other is ride is one as well yes 3 Jeeps I am addicted)

Anyway Wens am on the way home from work got the left hand up and out while doing a "right on red" and a stock shiny JKU with the very "Yuppie" looking driver, waved and he did a double take and turned it into a made my day I admit it!!

So some are learning!!

Even when you catch a dude doing a double-take cause he sees you're not also a dude, the wave itself has never seemed like anything more than a jeep wave

I always do a peace wave, I get more waves back now. I think some females think that if a guy does a jeep wave....they are actually waving because the chick is hot....

so Peace wave eliminates that ...more peace, more waves

Not likely. There is stretch of parkway where I'm not shifting and have my foot on the peg. I pass few jeeps and there is always a wave. The speed is reduced, no side street distractions, the traffic is light and there is considerable time to take in the other ride and eye contact.
I wouldn't disrespect them by wiggling my foot while they had a hand out.

jeepergurl67 I wave at every Wrangler I see. 2 door or 4 door. I seem to get waves back most of the time. I used to get upset if I didnt get waved at but I dont anymore. I get the feelling like someone leavin ya hangin in a high five though... kinda lolol

Yay - This just made my morning!!! My husband said it was probably the only one - ha! I'm not

I probably get waves back 1/3 of the time (see a lot if them around here) but still happy to see them regardless of wave-back.

SteelThrillsseeker No.

Just do the wave and feel confident they are doing the same!

wingerdinger151 Not a soccermom, or a female for that matter, but I roll windows down everywhere I go due to the lack of A/C in my jeep and every jeep I see gets the full hand out the window cant miss it wave. Still get snubbed. I have huge hands. Seems like most of the soccermoms dont know what they have in a Jeep and dont realize its special

Jeep Wavin' At Night

I have noticed that I see a lot more jeeps at night than I do during the day. It sucks because you cant see a jeep wave when driving at night. I have started flashing my fog lights at them hoping they will get what I am trying to do. Does any one else try something like that to keep the wave going in the dark?
gburkett I'm a soccer dad, but most waves I get are ladies. Guys don't wave much here. My 11year old girl will spot jeep before me and tell me to wave.lol

Re: Apple - I'm picking up what you are laying down & the tire thing made me laugh - that is so true!!!

You are not a JKU driving Jeep-waving soccer mom by any chance, are you?
Not a soccer dad, just another happy member. On of my goals in life is to appreciate what that guy appreciates. The closest thing I know of to off road adventures is boating.

There was a guy showed up to a lake late in the afternoon. One of those fishermen who was born on the wrong surface. He just looked natural on the water. Started out for an evening and bumped into a disabled boat. Used his fishing boat to haul it to shore as custom demands. Technically he could have begged off as his boat was smaller. When they came ashore, the rescue-ies discovered his whole time was towing and apologized. He smiled knowing that they didn't understand. He said "fishing, towed, being towed. All the same. Never a bad day".

Jeeps are medicine to me. The community, an asylum (with me included, hospital seems lofty ).

flowerfistandbestialwail I definitely wave at the odd modded Cherokee! My ex's first jeep was a lifted Cherokee and only when that thing bit the dust (at least, until someone more willing to put in the work picked it up) did he get his Wrangler. But the wave was something we learned about from our time with the Cherokee, so if they look like trail rigs they get a wave from me!

Dueeast My theory is; You get waves or waves back only if the other Jeep see's you. People excited about driving a Jeep tend to see other Jeeps, (hence the wave). But, if your just going through the motions, fixated on the car in front of you, you won't see another Jeep, much less someone waving.
