Jeep is almost done!!

Out of the Paint shop, custom fiberglass dash installed, new top, new interior, custom sub box, custom fiberglass 6 1/2 component speakers on the rear fenders, new suspension etc etc etc Just like a new Jeep with a 1971 318 V8 with fuel injection!! If I was thinking about selling anyone interested out there? I can provide a detailed list of NEW parts if needed.

New fiberglass wrangler dash project

Here are a few pics of the framing of the dash before I add dash speakers and fiberglass. I am looking to find anyone who has replaced the factory heater controls for some ideas.

CHL Yes, you want the 5291. My 91 came with Auto Meter's Phantom series 1 gauges.

New Autometer Phantom II gauge cluster

I just bought a complete set (Speedo 5", tach 5", oil, temp, volt and temp) of AutoMeter Phantom II' gauges for the fiber glass dash I am building. I have run into one issue with the speedo it is electronic.... I have a NV3550 5 speed trans and a stock 231 transfer case and wanted to confirm I am ordering the correct sending unit (there are only two 5291 and 5292).

Here is what autometer says:
"Most GM transmissions such as TH350, TH400, 700R4, TH200, &TH250’s may use the Auto Meter # 5291 speed sensor. This will simply thread onto the transmission in place of where the cable used to go. Some Chrysler, AMC, & Jeep transmissions may use the same sender. To know for sure, look to see how the cable attaches to the transmission. If it uses a large 7/8” threaded nut, that threads onto the transmission, then you can use the #5291.
Most Ford transmissions use a cable the pushes into the transmission and use a small retaining clamp to hold it in. For these models use a model # 5292 Auto Meter speed sensor. You will transfer the O-ring, speedometer gear and the gear retaining clip from the speedometer cable to the speed sensor, then install the sensor into the transmission. Just like the GM style, some Chrysler, AMC, and Jeep products may use a Ford style cable"

I think I need the 5291 because it looks like a screw in cable. Has anyone done this?
