|Jeepzjlover||This tool is made by AveCo fastner corp its specifically made for 5/16 nutzerts it made this job like butter can't tell you how easy this thing is. I used my body shop connections to get my hands on it from a local shop in the area. I'll try to get part numbers and cost of this thing if I can if anyone wants a way to order one. Thanks for you guys help with the bolt style tool once this project is done I'm gonna play with that to see how it works. In the mean time I'm gonna work smarter not harder lol. I'm guessing this is probably the tool savvy uses at there shop not no nut and bolt.|

Get the proper nut and bolt to set the nutserts and try again, this time making sure the nutsert is set. It should be obvious when they're set properly; as you tighten the bolt, you will feel it start to crush the nutsert, and eventually you should feel the nutsert crush completely.

The nutserts used there are for the frame, but the concept and "tool" are the same (but obviously a smaller bot/nut is needed). I'd recommend picking up a few extra nuts and whatever type of lock washers you use (I used a star washer as shown in the link above). For me, the nut and lock washer would start to wear and it would become more difficult to use, so I just swapped in a new set and continued.

|Jeepzjlover||I believe where my error in this is the nut he gave me fits and just threads up the bolt which they then just tightned upon themselves sounds like a larger nut is my key I was kinda wondering that. Guess ill give this another go around tonight on the goodside if i mess u nutzert up fastenal isnt to overly far away. Thanks for the help guys as you know it just gets frustrating when things dont work, I'm still hoping i preloaded properly and everything lines up. If I have any more problems ill report back|

It is basically one of the 5/16 grade 8 hex bolts already included with a g8 flat washer and 3/8 serrated flange nut. The nut is supposed to be larger as it is just a spacer. It is the serrations that are important, they keep the nutsert from spinning. The washer is just to keep the bolt and nut from contacting each other.
Place the washer, flange nut, and nutsert on the bolt as pictured.
Insert nutsert in drilled hole.
Use wrench to hold flange nut still and a ratchet and socket to tighten the bolt.
It will turn very hard at first, get easier, then get really hard. Crank it down good and tight then still holding the flange nut back off the bolt.
Viola! Only 21more to go.

I forgot to add:
1) They suck!
2) TAKE YOUR TIME! When your frustrated walk away. My arms were killing me after doing all of them. I rushed an had to do 5 over again.
3) Make sure the rocker is pre-loaded, and check everything twice before you drill.
4) If I had to do it over again, I would pre-load, mark, drill a pilot hole, remove the rocker, drill the full size hole, set the nutsert, put the rocker back on (pre-loaded), and screw in the bolt. But I would not tighten it all the way down. Just enough to hold the rocker in-line before repeating on the next hole.
It's going to take awhile, but believe me, you will love the fact that they line up perfectly vs. being off centered. I felt like I was putting something from IKEA together, lol!

Get a 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" bolt (fully threaded) in 5/16 x 18 thread, preferably Grade-8. Also, get a 9/16" hex nut, 5/16" flat washer, and a 5/16" fender washer. And bam; you have a nutsert tool!
Get two of each.
Anti-seize is good for the tool, and use red Loc-tite on the outside ring of the nutsert. Let it set over night before putting on the rockers to let the anti-seize cure.
I just finished installing mine this past weekend.

Cant set nutzerts SAVVY SLIDERS
Gerald didnt send me the tool to do this so i'm having no luck here im frustrated and am about ready to just drill all the way up through and use backing plates on the floor. I had an actual nutzert rivet type gun but it doesnt have enough umph for these grade 8 nutzerts. Somebody help I dunno what to do here :/ To make matters worse I tried putting a bolt in the one nutzert i thought was set and its just spinning. Blaine whats the fix here? This same post is also on jf if anyone wants to pick at me for that theres different crowds on each site so I'm using both
