Thanks, I did see a turn off and I bet that was an easier route. Knowing this I intend on giving it another go next summer when I come up. I also plan on climbing Mtn Borah again with my brother. We have done it several times and it is awesome. Some pics from Mnt Borah

At that point there was a gate ( on the left) that was bent out of the way and sort of hidden behind some brush. The sign on it said closed do to water on the trail. In that pic you will see some shrubs just beyond that the tail climbs again and it as a total boulder field. I probably could have made it but I chickened out. I did not want to have any mechanical failures up there without any back up plus getting back to Texas would be a little difficult. In addition I had my 11yr old son with me. Next time I will bring some extra tie rod ends, ball joints and a universal. Hind sight I was not very smart going up there ill prepaired. I had whatched several videos from other memebers and the trail seemed to pretty un obstructed. Maybe it was my inexperience. Either way next time I come up I will try and contact some of the ID people for guidance. BTW although I have lived in texas since 1983 I was raised in Mnt Home and have been going back to ID every year since. I have a brother that lives in 1A "BOISE". I was going to go to Atlanta as well but the pesky fires were everywhere. A real shame. Thanks for your input/response. See pics

for sure hit us up when you come back. there is a lot of wheeling around here. i just found some more great trails a couple weeks ago.

The road was pretty rough most of the way up. Much rougher than I viewed in many videos. Seemed that maybe the creek diverted onto the trail many times and washed out the soil. I felt that I was wheeling a creek bed all the way up (Boulders and all). In short I made it up past the Talus feilds but had to stop at the gate. Maybe I was just to nervous about experiencing a mechanical break down so far from Texas but either way I stopped while the gettin was good. I wouuld have loved to go the distance but not having any other jeeps or vehicals with me I did not want to have a break down. Next time I come up (yearly) I will see if any Idaho jeepers would be willing to give it a try with me. Thanks for the post it was a fun trip nevertheless.

I have not heard much about them. I have done stuff with southern idaho offroad ass. Jeff, the owner of advanced suspension, was/is? The club leader. They have a good group and do quite a bit of stuff.

YJmaddness Does anyone have any Memorial Day plans? I'm planning a trail run on Memorial Day at the Bennett Hills trail just North of Gooding if anyone is interested. Meeting at the trail head at 830 am.

laollis No, you're south east. From me anyway. [/QUOTE]

You must be looking at a different map or gps. Twin Falls is in the bottom middle of the state of Idaho. SOUTH CENTRAL
