sgporten Checking in from The Woodlands. Would be great to join the next trip. Bought an '89 YJ in March. Always up for a wrenching party or hitting the trails. Still lots to learn.

Hello, my name's Mike. I recently bought a '14 Wrangler Rubicon.

Can you post the Facebook URL? I'd like to join. Is this it?

Anyone else here in Baytown?

I used to be a mechanic, so I have a lot of tools to help work on the Jeep. No borrowing my tools, of course, but I can lend a hand whenever you need it.

mhelle Awesome, Thanks
06-09-2014 11:40 PM
Gamble Na with jacks and ratchet straps you shouldnt have any problems.
06-09-2014 01:35 PM
mhelle is that something that is hard to do? I've watched a few videos online, they always make it look easy..
06-09-2014 10:47 AM
Gamble You can, or you can unbolt the control arms but then you'll have to make sure you can line them back up.
06-09-2014 07:45 AM
mhelle I'm doing it the weekend of the 21 (im off friday-sunday) i have floor jacks, but have been told I should rent a spring compressor?
06-08-2014 11:37 PM
Gamble If you do it on a day that i'm off, i can take the trip to Galveston. Just buy me drinks or something and we'll call it even. I just installed the body lift on my Jeep a few weeks back. I can help you do the suspension lift as well. Haven't done one of those in a while but its not all that bad. As long as you have floor jacks, you'll be fine.
06-08-2014 10:37 AM
mhelle its a zone 4.25 combo kit
06-07-2014 02:41 AM
Gamble What kind of lift? And how big?
06-06-2014 01:44 PM
mhelle I'm doing my lift in two weeks (down here by Galveston) I dont really have.. any.. experience, do you guys have any tips that I need to know? >.<

Add front and rear bumpers, rock sliders, and if time allows, fenders.
It's kind of the beginning of this Jeep thing.
I had it stripped and ready to go when we found out we had a horrid black mold problem in my old house and had to move.

My issue is I have nowhere to wrench in the new apartment, as I live near West U and apparently working on cars is horribly frowned upon.. Im willing to make it worth someones while to have me over and install some new components on a weekend day. As a trade I will bring all the BBQ, Tamales, and Beer. Let me know if I have any takers as I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.. Chuck
