I can finally carry a matching spare tire now!!!!

I still have to extend the rubber bumpers for the spare tire.........anyone have suggestions on how to do this?
I picked up a second set of OEM tire spacers, trimmed off the "domed" portion so they are the correct thickness, bought some longer bolts and Fastenal, and mounted them. Works great. Here's a picture.

Dude I like it! That is a great idea and takes NO space at all!

Her daughter rolls in the TJ at night all the time. Mom just ordered us a set of JW Speaker headlights AND fogs for the old TJ. Un-freaking-believeable! Maybe I need to take her out over some bad potholes and get some Bilstein 5100s? HAHAHA!!! When I get them installed I will post pics. My OR-Fab tire carrier came today. That will have to wait for some free time as it is going to be a tough install. I have my dead SE with almost perfect sheet metal, as well as some bits that I want to cannibalize before giving it to my best friend. I think that the air canister in the passenger rear fender on my Sport is bad, so I will swap them to see if that clears the engine code. I will also steal the hood, fenders and tailgate from the SE. After I swap out all this stuff I will let my friend schedule a pickup with the transport company. During all this I will be installing the OR-Fab carrier. But I want to get the good tailgate off the SE first. So there is that small road block... I am betting that by the time I have the carrier installed and all the body panels swapped out (and that dang air canister) that I will have the lights, too. I have such craptastic luck in most things, but my MIL has really come through for me with the two jeeps and with our Honda over the years. I guess she sees our daily commute and knows we are really hard on our vehicles. So that is where she chucks her gifts to us - cash for parts!
I need your mother-in-law to hang out with mine. Maybe mine will learn some. Lol

srad600 Broke an axle!

lol.

4.88s 35s and the wheeling I do were a bit too much for stock D44 Axles. I actually learned when doing the gears that one was a lil twisted. I through it back together any way knowing the Alloy USA Chromo axles wouldnt be here till this Friday. I needed to move the Jeep.

I also backed into my good friends 2008 Civic with one of said 35s and now owe him a door or some body work. FML.

I've never used door clips on my other jeeps but my gf isn't a fan of me sticking duct tape there. The weather here is back and forth daily. It snowed a couple inches last week, then 74*, then rain, then 54*...it has rained every other day so there's no consistency yet. I was just gunna do tape cuz it's quick and always worked before.

That is such an easy and inexpensive mod, and it is SOOOO much better when you do it! I cannot believe I waited so long before having the nerve to work behind my dash with the wiring and such. After I was done I was so psyched, and it was actually easy to do, just awkward for my big ham hands.

Good job, man!

Rock Kicker Oh, and made a deal with the manager at my local big box tire shop. Overhauling and customizing a damaged part on his Mercedes (saving him a few grand) and he's gunna toss the 33" Duratracs I was buying next week on my rig, plus a lil cash. Once he pulls his part, should only take me a few hours. Not bad IMHO.

BurlySoldier Installed my all Rockford Fosgate system- Dual 10" Punch P3's, Prime 1200 watt mono amp, Punch 5.25 coax's, Punch 6.5" coax's, battery terminals, RFK 4 gauge wire kit. I haven't even remotely tuned it right and I am absolutely blown away.
I've still got a lot to do- tuning the amp and head unit as well as cleaning up the wiring but man ..wow. RF is badass. I will never own another brand of amp or subwoofer. The amp cost $220 and the RF sub box was 320 on amazon.

mang318 Plasti dipped my grill today and I'm pretty happy with the outcome considering this is the first time I've used plasti dip. I also drilled a hole in my rear bumper for a spot to mount my orange flag when I go wheeling. Sick of using zip ties to hold up the flag lol

Man, that moss is a real pain the ass around here...lol. That's almost as much as a pain as the palmetto bushes. But I gotta say my yard has a lot of shade. We have way too many trees up close to the house and the moss is very thick this year, not to metion I just got a new Stihl chainsaw and an electric pole saw and a case of beer!!! lolol
