OverkillYJ I know when I bought my High Steer kit from Rocky Road they sent me the wide track steering kit. The tie rod was too long to screw the tie rod ends in far enough to do the alignment. When I called them they told me pre-92' were wide track, and later than that were narrow track. Now I dont know if it is just for the tie rod, or if it also has to do with the actual axle itself. It is only a difference of about 1 1/2" though so most people would probably overlook it.

jokerchief462 Dad's JEEP is badder it is a great 89

All the input above is great, post a few pics. Love to see them both

megamike It's not the axles, it's just simply the rims. Unless you post a pic we won't know 100%

RednekYJ The 89 if stock, has a non c-clip d35 and 10" drums while the 95 has 9" drums and c-clips. Do both have stock rims? If not, As was said. Probably a backspacing difference on the rims.

tigerblood like nubby said, its likely rim backspacing differences, even if someone did swap a different rear end in his.

Nubby55 Your wheels may have a different back spacing.
