|Caseywoods5||man, my jeep started doing the same thing, know the solution to mine? mine won't start if i turn the key from on to start all the way, i have to turn it halfway between the two to where it's cranking but the key isn't turned as far as it'll go. if i turn it all the way, just sits and cranks, never will start. but if i turn it between the two, starts as quick as i turn the key. weird, but it works.|

Could be as simple as a head gasket, but could be worse. Definitely have a shop check it out....
They will probably tell you that they won't know if it's damaged without taking it apart. You may be shopping for a rebuilt or a stroker motor....

Drained it all out, thick. chocolate-ish... kinda has a frothy bubbleyness to it.
What really concerns me though is the smell, it smells burnt and smokey, its the same smell i smelled in the coolant when i popped the radiator not long after it cooled off at home.
I guess my next move is to have it diagnosed by a shop. if its too far gone, i might consider setting it aside for a parts jeep and getting a different TJ that runs well.
you know how it goes.

|PedroJr||Did it mix the Cooland with the oil? Does it look like chocolate?|

*worst fears realized*
Where should I start? :-/

fuel pressure? you should have between 45-54 psi. if it is less than that your fuel pump is bad.
sounds like you smoked your engine.
check the voltage on your starter too. Some times they turn over and don't have the power to start the engine.

|PedroJr||Have u check your engine oil? If not check oil n see what color it is. If is looks like chocolate mix ur in serious problem but if it look black or close to it ur ok but crank it a few times so just in case the water it's in the bottom of ur oil pan mix with the oil.|

Jeep won't start. Plz Help.
Having some possibly serious issues with my jeep.
Have had repeating overheating issues, changed radiator.
Problems started the other day with overheating; stopped motor at a red light while trying to get it home after it got hot, it wouldnt start again, ended up pushing it off the road and letting it cool. popped the rad cap, topped it off with water and tried starting it.
It started, so I had 4 miles to go, took it easy the ride home, and i started hearing banging from what I believed to be the water pump. Also a large loss of power and what felt like resistance when I let off the gas.
Burning smokey smell in coolant, motor would just crank, wouldn't start.
Motor stalled 1/4 mile from my house. Got it the rest of the way home by tow strap.
I Changed the water pump, Hopefully thats the end of my overheating issues.
But now, here lies my current problem
Jeep cranks (turns over) but doesnt start.
Checked fuel, checked spark, have both.
Upon turning on key to on (before turning over)
dash cycles, all gauges work, CEL turns off, stays off.
I've read all the hubbub about ECM's, however I am getting fuel, and the light isn't coming on after 20 minutes of continuously having key to 'on', so I don't believe my ECM is the issue.
My next two tries at fixing it would be Crankshaft and Camshaft Position sensors (from what i've read on here)
Hoping I didn't do further damage by being a jackass and forcing it home while hot.
Thanks in advance!
