legitposter Well I wanted painted fenders to begin with, and I like silly special edition things, so the oscar mike is perfect for me. If I were you i'd get the painted fenders then, if you hate them, paint them yourself matte black. Then you'll non-textured black fenders which would look pretty nice and different. Just an idea.

The wife has a 2012 Sahara, and I never have been able to get used to it on hers. Maybe it will be different with OM, and being Billet instead of DCR, but I don't have high hopes.

How are you liking yours?

When seeing the $29,685 price tag without the Premium soft top, I looked around at others. The Oscar Mike has everything I want, and then some for only a little bit more....sitting at $30,995. I fell in love with the interior of the Oscar Mike, compared to just the standard cloth seats.

Only thing I dislike about the Oscar Mike, is the painted fender flares. Should be no issue though, since I see the black fender flares on CL quite a bit and not for much.

Congrats on your OM!

Adding steps aftermarket means you have to remove the rock rails. There are some aftermarket rock rails (I think ACE?) that work as rails and also work great as steps.

Ask your dealer if they'll swap your rails for another wrangler's steps, assuming you don't care for rails. Many dealers will do this as the rails are worth more anyways.

Anyways, my wife and I both have Freedoms and LOVE them. They're unique straight from the factory. Great choice!
Thanks for your idea. The dealer swapped out my rock rails for side steps. They were much needed for my little kids.

I'm installing a set of Poison Spyder JK Rocker Knockers with the insert painted to match the dark gray wheel color....

What fun getting a new jeep this Friday....
Good luck and happy Trails.....

Thanks! The info I received from the dealer says "rock rails" as part of my 24f package. Odd. I guess I'll just have to see what is on it when I go to pick it up.

BeanieAZ My son (2 1/2yrs old) LOVES to try to climb in my OM. One day he's gonna get there and be so proud that he can finally do it! I give him a little boost now, but he'll get there. Maybe get a little step stool for the kids to carry in the Jeep if you really like the Rubi Rock Rails, the kids will grow and in a year you may regret not having them. Or then again, your Jeep may grow too and you'll need em regardless!

Is there a specific model or type of step I should ask the dealer for? The Sahara steps? Or is there a different/better kind?

That's what I was afraid of... Do I have to take off the rock rails to add steps? Do you think it is something a dealer would do a trade for on a new car, or are steps more expensive? Any suggestions?

Oscar Mike

Thank you to everyone who responded to my previous posts! I would like to give a special thanks to user: wrpnst1, whose Oscar Mike pics convinced me to the go this route.

I am going to take delivery on my new Wrangler Unlimited Oscar Mike on Friday.

Below are the options, if anyone is interested:

Color: Bright White
Oscar Mike - Customer Preferred Package 24F
Dual Top Group
Max Tow Package (3.73 Rear Axle)
Supplemental Air Bags
Anti-Spin Differential
Heated Front Seats
Alpine Audio

The one question I still have is whether I need to add some steps, or if the rock rails that come with the Oscar Mike can be used as steps. I've got two young kids.

Thanks!
