Thanks, that is what i thought. after looking at it closer last night.

My advice to any person looking to purchase a wrangler especially if it is modified, Definatly take someone with you who knows about jeeps and modifying them cause it sucks to fix other people's crap. Personally if your going to do it might as well do it right the first time, buy a stock TJ and mod it how you want it.

s14sh3r It's obviously been heated just above where it's welded to the collar. Heat it and bend it back and you should be good to go. If you haven't already done so, move the console back where it belongs.

MFsoftball22 yea so i looked at it and thought about it a lot last night. I though about cutting it off and welding the shifter to the bottom of the bracket to move it further from the front of the center counsel. But my biggest proble is why if i moved the counsel back to its original holes then why would it still hit on the counsel. I then thought about the part where it say it might have been bent. It looks like it might have been bent just up from where the shifter is welded to the bracket. Please tell me what you think cause i am a little lost. Also is there any other reason that i would ge having this problem? does anyone have same setup that can show me pics of the center counsel and dash with reference to the shifter?

2005 TJ 4.0L, 3in BDS Spring lift, No body lift, SYE and CV Driveshaft. Removing the TC Drop and putting the skid plate back to stock position. Really didnt think it would be that hard.

Stick with it. 25 or so years ago, my GF used to get very upset with me for spending all my time and money on my truck (I was 16 at the time). I kept at it, and now she understands my automotive addictions/ passion, has for about the last 24 years.. (with the exception of another wife, and many girlfriends in the mean time. We got married 15 years ago)
As far as the shifter, you're on yer own...

Yea im done working on it for the night. Already in trouble with the GF. Should have been done before she got home and turned into a big headache. Thanks for ideas. I will give updates asap

BLK00TJ Pull the shifter, put in in a vise, heat it, bend it put it back in. Then move the console back to its original location. That should fix both problems.

I thought about that but the problem is that not only does it hit at the dash. The spot where the shifter attaches "the bulge part" hits the front of my center counsel and you can't shift into 1st 3rd or 5th. The PO moved the center counsel back about an inch or 2 and drilled new holes to screw it into. Pretty much rigged it together. I tried moving it back to original spot and still hits. Im not sure what would fix it.

Patrick H At first I thought it had been cut off and welded in a different place, but apparently they look that way. I wasn't familiar with the NSG370 shift cane

Patrick H Looks like it was heated and bent. Pull it out, heat it up and bend it back where you want it. Or, replace the shift cane

Remove TC Drop Help!!!

So I have a 2005 TJ with 3 in BDS lift. The PO put a TC Drop on it and now I want to remove it. I took out the spacers and reattached the skid plate to the frame. Now my trans will not shift info 1st 3rd or 5th gear. it is hitting on the center counsel but also the dash. The PO sucked at working on it and im a little upset. Im not sure if the shifter is stock or if he put an aftermarket one on to compensate for the lift. I have pics and will try to attach them so you can see what I am talking about.
