joemd60 Sorry DJ I just saw this post, I have not heard anything in Fitchburg. I have the 24th and the 28th off, so I am going to see if I can find some fun for my jeep.
05-29-2009 07:38 AM
DJeep98 I heard there's some back roads in Fitchburg of off Rt2. Did you hear anything?
05-27-2009 05:52 PM
joemd60 The Park Ranger was very nice and polite, also I don't remember where it was but I was not at the park entrance it somewhere in Hopkinton. I chose to make the best of the day and stay in NH. and see what I could find.
05-27-2009 04:45 PM
DJeep98 were they nice and friendly or they gave you attitude, cause I didn't see any. So I know what to expect...
05-26-2009 04:45 PM
joemd60 Sounds good DJ, I guess I was looking forward to coming home covered in mud. I did find some trails but the Park Ranger said no can do, ATV's only.
05-26-2009 01:36 PM
DJeep98 yeah I didn't know either, too bad you had to turn around, I went through the enerance and I dove through. I found a few chalanging roads. better than nothing.
I'm sorry you drove for nothing, we should have exchanged #'s.
If you know any places closer by let's check it out.
05-25-2009 06:15 AM
joemd60 It's a new day, and I want to apologize if I sounded angry at anyone, I was not except to myself. I should have looked at the website a little further and I should have been better prepared.
On a positive note, summer is just begining and there will be plenty of times to hit the trails.
05-24-2009 02:18 PM
joemd60 Also I don't know what entrance you guys were at but I was at the Franklin River Dam entrance which as I said is a bike trail only.
I stayed until 12 unless you guys were at a different place or you did a GPS to the park, at any rate it does not matter. I just got home and I am very stressed after having to drive for over 3 hours not mention the gas I burned, so I am venting sorry... there will be another time.
05-24-2009 01:56 PM
joemd60 Don't trust the webs directions either. It is best to call to verify, the directions on the website are trails... Bicycle trails.
05-24-2009 01:45 PM
G-Pur dude, we both drove to the parking lot entrance to the trails. Yes it definitely was a waste. I think we're going to try another place next weekend. Perhaps someplace closer. I heard there were trails out by saugus
05-24-2009 12:22 PM
joemd60 I have an update, it pays to make some calls before venturing into the unknown. I spoke to Park Ranger in Hopkinton NH. And he said the Hopkinton Everett Lakes is not for jeeps, only ATV's. What an awful waste of fuel, time, and what could have been a fun day.
05-24-2009 10:54 AM
joemd60 So I sit here at Franklin Falls Dam and discover, those directions are completely wrong. So I guess I drove an hour and 45 minutes and missed you guys.
05-23-2009 06:24 PM
G-Pur I want mud pictures after the run. It's my first run, so I need to have some non-poser shots.
05-23-2009 01:38 PM
DJeep98 ofcouse...
05-23-2009 09:21 AM
joemd60 Should I wash my jeep first.
05-23-2009 08:29 AM
DJeep98 Super, we'll meet there arond 11"30 ish...
05-22-2009 04:44 PM
joemd60 I assume we are meeting there, my jeep is black. It is about and hour and forty minutes from my house so I hope to see you guys there. I will wait at the entrance for you guys.
05-22-2009 03:44 PM
G-Pur I'll see you guys at the entrance at 11:30. I'm assuming that we'll meet at the spot on the link that you put up DJ?
05-22-2009 12:59 PM
DJeep98 Yeah we can meet up there, make sure you look at that link I put up earlier, and look at the direction for the off road trails, because it's a little different than the entrance for the park it self. If I"m not misstaken its some where of off RT13...
I plan to be there around 11'30 esh...
by the way what color is your jeep?
05-22-2009 11:05 AM
joemd60 How about giving an exit no. in MA. off 93 and maybe we can meet there. I am not familiar with the liquor store off 93 in NH.
05-22-2009 10:26 AM
DJeep98 Well I'm in Wayland\Natick area, so I'll be taking 95 to 93.
We can meet at that REST AREA\LIQUER SORE (NH liquer sore)
Yeah see so far we don't have that many people ahh... but I'm going anyway. Got to have fun...
05-22-2009 09:51 AM
joemd60 I am coming from Worcester, naturally I will be taking 495N to 93N. So any point off 93 to meet is fine. I hope more guys from the area would like to go, it would be nice to see a few more jeeps.
05-21-2009 12:36 PM
DJeep98 Well I want to go as early as posible, plus I don't know where's everyone is from. We can meet at the first Liquer\rest area on (93N) Any other sugestions??
05-21-2009 08:22 AM
joemd60 It's my Mother's B-Day but I may still go, where and what time is the meeting spot?
05-21-2009 06:22 AM

Sounds good DJ.

joemd60 Now let me tell you what I learned at the Lancaster meet and greet. First it was a great time, second they had a mud trail down back and I had fun watching but would have liked to participate.
So what I learned was there were some very capable jeeps that either got stuck or could not make it up the muddy rut filled hill, although I am sure to some extent it attributed to driver error.
Than there were the brave few that attempted it with stock jeeps with the wrong tires and failed miserably, than had to be winched out . So my point is, this sounds fun as long as you or we are all aware of what we will be driving through.
NH can be a long hike back to MA. with a jeep attached to a wrecker or no jeep at all.

G-Pur Great, Sunday is better for me anyway.
05-14-2009 06:44 AM
