It's all about preferences I suppose...but its definitely not useless like a "poopie flavored lollipop".

County98 I've got Dually D2's on the Rigid A pillar mounts (Driving pattern). Works great. I've also got a set of IPF 968's on the bumper. Lights are okay for what they are.

I HATE the Q-tec light brackets I got for the bumper lights. Vibrate so bad I won't even use the lights until I get a new bumper to put them on. Just FYI.

wmwhitey If you guys are going to get more lights check out my friends page on Facebook I got my 50" for $380 and I got 2 pair of the D2 style lights for $300 and they came with 5 different color lens covers. in the next few weeks I will be buying a 20" for the hood and a 10" for my bumper. Just look up "Warrior LED's" I just looked at his page he is running a 15% discount till the end of the month.

Not necessarily...depends on the gauge.

Its not just for an air gauge...I love my Aeroforce gauge as it allows me to monitor a ton of various systems.

Are you planning on running an air tank of any kind? If not, the gauge is as useful as a poopie flavored lollipop.

FutureRN I just ordered an sPod without the fudge but this thread is making me reconsider lol. Maybe I should return it for the gauged model

Floods make no sense on the hood for me. A flood light on the hood will cut off 50% of the light and turn it into glare. I also don't like that it blocks some vision. I prefer to have my floods on the bumpers and then driving on the a pillars and spots up high. Personal opinion, I'm sure others feel differently.

Remember this basic rule of thumb....floods go low, spots go high....combos in the middle. You want the area directly in front of your rig lit, so you want a bright, wide beam, thus, go flood on the bumper area. Rooftop lighting is meant for distance, so you want a spot up there. The middle you want a combo.
What's your recommendation on putting a flood/spot combo bar on the hood? I'm looking into the Rigid 10" or 20" LED bars and mounting kit for my JK.

I ran the wire down right along the mount itself. Can't see it at all except the very top.

MHShale The only thing I don't like about the LED lights is that the diodes look yellow when they're not on, it's just how LED lights are.

Not to be a jerk but the reason road racing cars have amber light covers is to differentiate class. the GT (slower) classes run amber and the prototype classes do not. This is for the drivers so they know which class of car is coming up behind them.

Sorry if im stealing this thread....how did you run the wiring for the 50" to the sPod? I just got mine and im at a loss for running the wiring to the spod. tried searching web and nothing. thanks Nice looking rig.

Spyder1049 i went with the poison spider window mounts , did the job , happy with the purchase
almost everyone sells these , alot of warehouses sell them as a bundle lights plus mounts

Knuckles65 Anyone have any suggestions with regards to the mounting brackets on the a-pillar?

Going to order a set of spots for the windshield and some sort of floods or small light bar for the bumper.

TrueBlueJK Got the d2's in today (thanks Dave) and did a quick hook up to see how the lights and spod function.

D2 driving pattern


Cut out the wiring to switch and relay since I'll be hooking up to spod


Temporary hook up to switch #1



These lights are really bright, can't wait to get them mounted

TrueBlueJK Obd2 extension came in today, hooked up the aeroforce gauge. Now it's time to start putting those switches to use, d2's should be here in afew days.

As you can see from the OEM headlights and fogs, the words good lighting and legal don't really come hand in hand. As you can also see from my above pic, I take my lighting pretty seriously. My headlights are bixenon projectors. They are technically not street legal (not DOT approved, which means squat to me, since the government is worthless at everything it does) but they are much better both in light output and in light control. In fact, they are better than any headlight you can buy in terms of light control (and output) but again, not DOT approved and thus, not street legal (I could care less). My bars I mentioned above, and my fogs are 3000K HIDs because I actually want lights that work in fog and bad weather. LED lights do not work in fog or bad weather. They get completely washed out in bad weather and in fog they bounce light back into your face. There is a reason why LeMans cars all have ion yellow (3000K) lights



I don't drive around on a clear night like a poser with my fogs on, nor am I looking to impress anyone with my lighting. My lighting was done for 110% function and ZERO form. The good looks are a bonus, but I could care less about them.

Knuckles65 Thanks. I think I'll do spots near the windshield when I get to that point. For now, I need some additional "back roads" lighting. I'd love to upgrade the headlights, but that's some serious coin.
