jk'n I have a thread restorer set that I use to determine thread pitch and size. All of the restorers for bolt threads look like nuts. Each has the size and thread pitch printed on it. A very handy set of tools to have on hand to answer this type of question. A lot of parts on my '92 are metric. Be aware of that as you try to determine what it is.

Shifter Question

Hey guys, years ago i rung the threaded part off of my shifter shaft trying to remove the handle. i've had an aftermarket handle on since then that slips over the shaft and tightens with a set screw.... i want to re-thread it (to factory threads) so i can extend it... does anyone know what size die i need? and is the transfer case shaft the same? i'm thinking 3/8-16? Thanx ahead.
oh it's an '89 if that matters.
