kdilly I found a pair of stock rubi wheels cheap on CL and put 33's on them. I have an '02 sport with a 2" BB and a 1" BL (Looking to upgrade to a REAL lift when funds allow) and it does just fine on and off road. Never had any rubbing.

There are of course lots of options on wheels. I would first recommend checking your local Craigslist. I found my complete set of wheels and tires on Craigslist and saved a lot.

But you can find 15 x 8's starting around $50-60 each brand new. My Cragar Series 342 Black D wheels are $57 retail and I basically got them free with a set of tires I got on Craigslist with only 2-3000 miles on them.

So shop around, you never know what you will find.

The 12.5" is the main problem as stated on those 7" stock rims. I just lifted mine with a 3" BDS Suspension lift, put on 33x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ on 15x8 and agree that is the smallest I would want to go. It would be hard to even find a competent garage that would do that mounting. The backspacing is key as pointed out to keep the larger tires from rubbing.

Wattapunk X2 on both replies. Stock wheels dont have the proper BS and 33"s need about 4" of lift. Look into 15x8 wheels with a 3.75" BS and at the very minimum put on a 1.25 BL and add a MML. Keep in mind of a possible regear depending on your current setup. You can also disregard the suggestions, save money and just go with 31"tires.

jp2611 A finer point is in reference to the wheels and the driving you do.....if I am reading your question correctly...you want to use stock wheels? That won't work, not enough back spacing. The height MIGHT not be a problem if you drive like an old man and never go off road....I have the OME SL and a 1.25" BL and still rub my Duratracs if conditions are "just right" it doesn't happen often...but it does happen, and not always when off road.

33x12.5s on stock jeep tj steel wheels and 2" BB lift?

Hey there, just wondering if i can put 33x12.5 tires on my stock jeep tj steel wheels on my jeep which has a 2" rubicon express coil spacer lift? Also, if not what are the biggest tires I could go with? I coated the steels wheels black and love the way they look and was wondering the biggest tires I could use. I believe the steel wheels are 15x7 but I'm not positive about that either. Thanks in advance for the help. I'm a rookie with this kind of stuff!
