My stock looked the same. Make sure the sleeves stays tight and you should have no issues.
You can replace just the sleeve if you want.
Edit "collar" not sleeve. They can strip and lose hold.

It looks chewed because someone used pliers or vice grips to turn the adjuster.
I suggest an alignment by an experienced shop as a check on your alignment specs.

Tie Rod Adjustment and Collar...Replacement?
Hello wrangler forum!! I am a newb when it comes to jeeps. I just recently purchased my jeep and have been researching and learning as much as I can.
I have noticed recently that my Jeep's steering has been quite darty especially when encountering bumps. It will dart in both directions but it pulls most to the left.
So I have done some research and alot of laying on my back looking under the front end of my jeep. Yesterday I noticed that my tie rod adjustment collar was loose. So loose I could tighten it by hand. It also looks very "chewed up". Also the threads on the tie rod look cracked. I've posted some pics below.
I'm thinking about just replacing the tie rod and ends and getting an alignment. Do I need to go thru all of that or should I just get the alignment done? I was worried about the threads and the collar being too damaged to align properly
