Atthehop Were the rear seat passengers in their seatbelts?

Darth Vader Thanks Neil, I'll try to get around to that before the weekend. I'm probably going to need a new clutch after that weekend. I scorched it pretty good.

Neil F. Like the above indicates, I don't see how that would happen. I'd look at the inside and see what is bent or giving way. At the bottom in the back, there is a plastic clip that allows the rear to be opened up to get to the inside.

CarolinaBound Sounds like it wasn't latched in, really the only thing that I can picture in my head...

Darth Vader 90% certain it's factory.

Trailsnail, I was wondering the same thing. Everything else held together just fine. We had a few "oopsie" moments where we hit a bump -way- faster than we should have. Got thrown around pretty good. I'm certain that that's when it happened, but I'm still befuddled. I forgot to take pictures of it, but it was pretty gnarly when you looked at it from the side.

So, any advice for reinforcing it?

Reinforcing the rear seat.

Hi guys.

Just took my new girl for a spin at the dunes. She's a 2003. Everything went well, except my rear seat took quite a beating. By the time we got back, the frame on the top had bent backward a good 2 inches. We had to collapse the seat and stand on it to bend it back. Has anyone looked at reinforcing the seat frame?
