Neil F. Define needed. I have both top and the hardtop is much better to deal with in the winter. It is easier to clean and see out of in the snow and salt plus saves on wear and abuse on the soft top half the year. Other people get hard tops for the added security

Atthehop Hard tops are not needed in NJ or anywhere in the lower 48.

Lando25 Yes but its takes a good amount of modifying. I believe the YJ hard tops are longer than TJs.

Hello,
Love the site lots of great info, I have a 2003 Wrangler X with a soft top and a friend want to give me his hardtop for winter it came off of his 1994 Wrangler, will this top fit my 03, Help.
