IndyJeepMan I agree, but backorders happen and often. You should still be able to take the entire top down and leave the sunrider down correct?

When its really hot out I prefer to leave the top up and just zip out all the windows.
Thanks for the advice. That may be worth a shot..was also thinking that route. Much appreciated!

Also just drive with the doors and all window pieces off the softtop its just similar and you wont get skin cancer.

Its not a runaround its called a backorder. Either order it yourself, figure out another fix or wait. Complaining wont help you.
The sunrider cannot be utilized because both of these joints are broken on either side. Furthermore, it is a bear to secure the top when trying to put it back up due to the joints not being intact to give the full 90 degree flex when they're working properly. They are very flimsy and this is the second time it has happened. The dealership also advised me that this is something they've seen a lot of in this vehicle in terms of damage/service.

I do already take the doors off and windows but I'm worried that being complacent and not keeping on the stealership about this will eventually turn into one of those "oh, I had every intention of getting that fixed..5 years ago" kind of things.

I'm not looking for a pity party - as noted originally in my first post, I'm trying to see if this is commonplace or if I should raise any red flags for concern in terms of getting this fixed in a timely manner - or if I should be ready to wait until next Winter to have this part on my rig.

And for what it's worth, when you pay $30,000 for a Jeep, I think you reserve the right to "moan" a little bit. Thanks for the advice though.

RBuchanio Driving with the top up..in the summer..in a soft top? Thanks for the advice but that's not going to suffice. Especially when this is under warranty and I feel like I'm getting the runaround.

How convenient a piece is on back order during the season it would be in most demand..

TrueBlueJK Just drive with the top up, it's not the end of the world. If you really want it that bad, just purchase it from the link you supplied.

National Back-Order - Anyone run into this?

Has anyone had any problems getting in parts and pieces directly from the dealer for your Jeep?

This is a warrantied piece, part #5166017AB, for my soft top. I was told it is on national back-order and there is no time frame on when it will come back into stock. Seeing as how it's summer and right now I can't put my soft top down at all, I'm sort of having a mini panic attack in terms of if this piece will come in before the summer is over.

Here's a link to the piece..

MOPAR Folding Top Side Bow Knuckle 5166017AB

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
