01TJ60 Pioneer & Kenwood both make great units. Might consider one that has a rear USB port in order to keep the iPod in the glove box. I don't use my iPhone for music, so might be a littel unusual, but I like the security option.

jeeps4u2nv88 Thanks everyone! I think I'm def going to go with Crutchfield! Haven't heard any bad things about them and I chatted with one of their product reps online and they are very down to earth with advice and answers to questions. The dash speakers have been upgraded by the previous owner and they sound amazing. From the stock radio I was shocked. I'm a tech geek second and Jeep geek first so having something that connects to all my devices would be nice. Any one have the Kenwood KDC-255U In-Dash USB/CD Receiver? This is the one i'm leaning towards but the Pioneer's are tempting.

X2, I have nothing but great things to say about Crutchfield. The instructions were clear and they included the adapter and harness free along with my head unit. I ended up going with Pioneer, but its all personal preference.

CarolinaBound Another pioneer user. I have yet to educate myself on electronics so for now I don't like them. But splicing ~10 wires wasn't terrible at all. Did it with a leatherman pocket knife and electric tape. Had a $20 best buy gift certificate so getting this for $30, can't complain.

Dextreme I really like the Sony MexBT3100P...bluetooth, and USB port for $129 at Bestbuy. Works awesome for streaming Pandora and Iheartradio from your smartphone.

Jgood738 I have a Pioneer P9400BH. Does everything but drive my Jeep. Kinda weird having all that technology in a utilitarian vehicle.
If your upgrading your stereo may wanna look into speakers too if you still have stock. Polk DXi series is the way to go there.

Madden You also might want to look into one that's marine rated if you have your top down a lot when you go wheeling. Mines not marine rated and I haven't had any problems yet, but better safe than sorry.

yoopone Quadratec has a good variety of Plug and Play Sony's. All available with adapter cables that plug right into your Jeep's wiring harness.

375Ranger Yup, same here. I just installed a Pioneer deck myself, and I'm chicken when it comes to anything electrical. You do have to make your harness from the supplied parts, but some butt connectors, matching wires, and its simple. I zip tied the bundles, used electrical tape wrapped around, and done. From there, simple plug n play. Good luck.

Aftermarket Radio

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1998 TJ with the stock radio in it and I feel it needs upgrading. I don't want to get anything extreme but I do want to get something nice, and easy to use. Looking to get one that has a AUX outlet for my phone and iPod. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
