ob269 Just an fyi: bds does not make zone. They are owned by the same company, but to say they are made by the same is completely untrue..

If it was meant to have 2 holes in it, then the Jeep God would have put 2 of them there.

This statement is so funny. While it is much easier to use the adjustable track bar and stock holes that doesn't make it "right" vs drilling a hole. Either way there is a hole drilled, you just have to drill the correct size hole in the location described in the instructions and its fine.several down and no problems for me yet. If anything change the crap nut tab holding the bolt to a locking nut.

NC Bear I have the BDS and 1 inch JKS body. (BDS makes Zone) I tried the redrilling of the track bar and never could keep it tight. Every couple days I would get a real bad popping noise and would have to re torque the bolt. I ended up getting an adj. track bar and no more troubles. The bolt has stayed tighter than dick's hatband for the last 3 months.

Have him go ahead and buy the adj. track bar, and do it right. It is def. worth it.

Yes, when you get the adjustable, you can then use the original bolt holes, then make the adjustment in the trackbar.

JeepReaper09 Im lookin' at this kit as well, and this has been a big question for me! If I drill the hole for the stock track bar, will I still be able to upgrade eventually to the adjustable? I understand that its optimal to just upgrade right away as to not have to even worry about drilling holes, but my wallet (and my wife) disagree. Im on a very strict budget, as most all of us are, so I want to lift and be able to manage light trails for a few months before I upgrade.

space_monkey I've got the 4.25 combo and am running the stock front trackbar in the stock location. The axle is shifted maybe an inch, and you really have to be looking for it to notice. Been running it this way for months now as DD with one wheeling trip so far as well. No issues. For the rear I used the included bracket.

Dextreme It took me about 1 minute to drill a hole my bracket for the front track bar. Very simple if you have a sharp bit.

Awesome kit for the money and ya get to keep the breakover clearance. The (3" and 4" kits require a transfers case drop or a SYE)

Water Dog Thanks for the info all. I will let him know that the best option would be to get an adjustable TB, but I'm pretty sure we'll wind up drilling it.

MosesTJ I have the 4" and it has been great so far. We have a guy in our crew with the 4.25" combo and so far he is happy as well. I drilled my front and his for the track bar. If you get the right bit 13/32" I believe which I had to search for you will not get DW because its tight.

thgr8alex Ive got zone 3 inch. The rear track bar has a relocation bracket to put the right angle back on which is perfect. The front requires you to drill a new hole in the factory mount. People have done that and are running fine but others get death wobble and broken mounts( drilling the new hole puts a lot of stress on the mount) so its recommended to beefen it up a bit which in my opinion is a bit complicated so i went ahead and bought an adjustable front track bar to save me from having to worry. JKS and Rubicon Express are the best ones. But for the rear, the relocation bracket is perfectly fine. Btw zone lift is a great kit and for a great price. If i recall correctly, zone lifts are BDS lifts without the warranty on it. So zone makes some decent quality stuff

PStov98TJ I have the DPG kit and got about 3" out of it. And I used jks adjustables. Very good track bar. While I don't think I'd be missing out on something if I still had the stock one, I'm pretty meticulous about what goes on my jeep. So I liked the idea of being able to fully center the axle without drilling out the old mount. So just some food for thought.

And one piece of personal advice though is to go get a new bolt for the front (M10x1.5 70mm-75mm I believe). Mine didn't quite fit right after the new track bar and broke while I was going down the road. The bolt just looked worn when I took it out and gave way after being retorqued.

4.25 Zone Combo Lift

My son is considering a Zone 4.25 combo lift on his 98 TJ. I noticed that it includes a 3" suspension lift. To those who have used this lift, are the existing track bars used in their stock locations or have you installed an adjustables with this lift? How's the overall quality? Anything to watch out for? The DPG looks nicer, but he's on a budget.
