|bouche03||Well, I decided to attempt this install today in the freezing cold Thanksgiving air. A couple points I wanted to mention. First of all, thanks to all the people on this (and another forum) which proved to be an invaluable resource-so thank you all. Due to all the info, it was a breeze. Second, I battled a little with the window switches, but finally decided to follow a tip I found online-I used a plastic iphone pry tool and pried from THE BOTTOM and it was a joke how little leverage/force it took to get the switches out. So rather than pull and yank on it with a lot of force like a did yesterday-to no avail-today I pried softly from the bottom and it came out nicely. The only other issue I had was those little white plastic clips that hold the dash panel on that either break or fall off and get lost in the nether world of the dash, LOL. I will be ordering some to replace the few that I lost. But again, thanks guys. This forum is a terrific resource! Nick|

|bouche03||fiveofun, how did you find the install? as easy as reported?|

When using the HDD, it will continue to play and stay on random at startup. When using the USB, the RBZ will not continue to play or keep random just like the 130 I had.
In general I love this thing, but there are a few things that the 130 has over the RBZ, though they are minor. 1, it is not nearly as easy to select random as it is on the 130. 2, I couldn't find a way to display the clock when the JK is off. On the 130, there is a time button you can press that will display the time.

|bouche03||Panther, I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me answer. I want to add the bluetooth module to my Jeep and as I mentioned earlier, I scored an RBZ 430 with a date code of May 11 2013. Now, that said, I have been searching online for the right bluetooth module to add to this to allow me to use the steering controls and stream audio from my phone. The part I have come up with is #82212159. I'd like to add the USB interface, part number #82212936AB. The question is, I have found listings on ebay, that indicate that some modules are not capable of streaming audio. Is this true?|

|bouche03||Are there any trim panels that I will need when swapping out from a 130 unit?|

|Ricanbandit||Well, add me to this boat. Looking for a good deal on ebay as I type this!|

I have a 2010 rbz in my 2013 Wrangler and it has the combined GPS/Sirius plug.
But yeah....most dealers are clueless and just want an upsell.
|11-21-2013 04:19 PM|
Just make sure its a High speed with side mount holes like eggers mentioned and you will be fine.

|bouche03||Yeah, no kidding. I knew the about the mounting holes, high speed and antenna. They did quote me on the 730 which I don't want, at just around 2000k installed...no thanks!|

|bouche03||I've read through every page of this thread-and I just had a question that I was hoping one of our resident experts could answer for me with 100% certainty. I will be taking delivery of a 2014 JKU and I want to slide in a 430RBZ. Dealer has just told me that Chrysler told them that the older radios WILL NOT work with the 2014 JK's. Everything I've read is in contrary to what the dealer has told me...any firsthand experience?|

|panthermark||Now that my 1 year of free Sirius has ended, I may sell mine and find a newer version (I waited a year because I fought like heck to get my subscription switched over). It just depends on how lazy I am. Maybe I can luck up and grab a 430rbz out of a 2014 Sport.|

Got my replacement 430 today from OEMAutoParts. I can't say enough good about these guys, they are the real deal. The first radio they sent me was from a 2010 Chrysler, the logo never changed over and the software was older than dirt. I contacted them, they immediately issued me an RMA and said they'd send me a newer model.
The one I got today was from 2011, and everything worked like a charm, latest software (50.xxxx) , started out saying Dodge and then switched to Jeep without me even turning the vehicle off and back on again.
Their customer service is awesome, and I'd totally deal with them again.

Sorry for trying to pass along a savings. I don't understand why people are so quick to find the negative in everything.

|wrix||I need the antitheft unlock code for the new radio. I realize these are two different radios with different hardware. Thanks though! The previous post mentions a british company that gets unlock codes for any chrysler radio. That's what I need next.|

|wrix||Thanks for the link! Whom did you use for the unlock code? Can you post that as well? I have the RBZ but this is a great upgrade to nav for not much more!|
|11-15-2013 06:54 PM|
So I picked up a 2014 JKUR last week and opted out of the navigation because I figured it would make more sense to go the aftermarket route to hopefully get more functionality for less. OEM Nav was something like $1700. I started looking at the Pioneer offerings and realized an additional module is needed for this and needed for that – seemed like a giant headache. So I startled browsing the forums and saw that a lot of you guys have been picking up the RBZ units and really enjoyed them. At this point I figured it would be best to go OEM seeing I have the connectivity package and wanted everything to work.
Between all of the 506 vs 509 units, build dates, high/low speed, blue/green lights, I decided to see what eBay had to offer. I came across a couple good deals but then started noticing some RHB units in the $1k range. After some research in the RHB units I figured that if I was going to spend the money, I might as well get what I really want. This is when I stumbled across a seller listing a RHB unit for $389. It was a recent 509 part number with a build date of 1133 and a laser date of Apr 23rd, 2013. I figured it was too good to be true but I said screw it and bought it!!!
Fast forward to today, the unit comes and low and behold it’s a brand new RHB unit – however there was no security code. So I took the dash apart hoping for the best, installed it, powered it on and it asked me for security code. Not wanting to deal with a dealer I hopped back on eBay and found a guy in the UK selling security codes for 4.99euro. Bought it, sent him the part number/serial number and in 5min I had the unlock code. Typed in the code and boom, it works. Shut the Jeep off, turned it back on, Jeep logo appears, Sirius fires up, Sirius Travel Link work, and GPS is spot on. The only downside to all of this is that it has the blue back-lights. I can live with the blue lights for the killer deal I got.
Now onto the good part. Seeing I have gained a wealth of knowledge from all of you, I am hoping I can pass this deal onto someone else… The seller has multiple units and has relisted another one:
Good luck to whomever snags this!!!

|bakos024||I bought one from a fellow member and should be here tomorrow.....Cant wait to put it in!|

|eggers_paul||Thank you so much! Yes, I have the connectivity group with sat and bluetooth and my understanding is the navigation and sat share the antenna so I should be all set.|
