cdnabn49 since this post I have updated to polycarbonate roundeyes headlamps... the glass was just not conducive to the Alberta winters, summers and rocks from all the trucks.
So far so good with the *roundeyes* lamps quite impact resistant and clear and bright... time will tell.

Rich. sorry for the delayed response - laptop crashed - they were plug and play - after several replacement lenses (6)- dang highway driving and big rig rocks I have switched to Lexan headlamps - I was just frustrated due to rocks damaging my lenses - my windshield looks like I was hit with booth barrels of 00buck!
I recently purchased 7" Lexan lense from Roundeyes.com - so far so good - time will tell.

If you have covers I will recommend the IPF lenses over the Bosch - I ran one of each and the IPF's were cleaner light... that being said I really prefer the Roundeyes - not needing blinding light but good clear light dispersion - I have 7"clear "fog lamps" that are pencil style beams for distance when I need it - off road/gravel/inclement weather.

I hope this answers your questions - I will be more diligent in my responses

yep - plug and play
here's a link to the light article - http://www.ratwell.com/technical/BoschH4.html
I am also running Osram (owns Sylvannia) 62203 H4 80/100W bulbs - the light is clean, bright and not over powering. I am use to the light dispersion pattern from motorcycle headlamps which is great - a lot of road surface is illuminated - being able to see the road on a bike can be the difference between life and a memorial service. In my opinion the light appears to be "cleaner" then the IPF lenses I had previously installed. I've used "silverstars" for years in my bikes and really like them as well.

headlight upgrade option and a great one at that!

OK here's a link for a Bosch upgrade kit that's plug and play - included: Bosch lenses, bulbs and the relay kit all for $99.95 USD plus shipping/duties/taxes *NOTE* this kit is for vehicles with 6014/6024 7" round lights - like the TJ and it's only listed up to an 01 but the lights are the same on my 04... one word AWESOME! friggin bright, clear and great light dispersion. There is a great light article on the sight as well.
