I live on cape Breton island, none of those stores you guys list are anywhere near me. I could be stuck with the dealer as I only have 1 key now

|Jerry Bransford||I have had a few chipped keys go bad in various Jeeps I have owned, I suspect that is your problem too. My replacement chipped keys came from eBay which also include directions on how to program them. You do need two working chipped keys to do that though.|

Chipped key problems!
Been getting the key with the line through it lighting up on my gauge panel on start up and the jeep revs then dies as if its not a chipped key. It only does this sometimes and other times it starts.
I'm also getting the code on my odometer that is related to starting without the chip jeep. 1685 I think it was.
Is there anything near the TPS that could cause the security for the key to act up? I was poking around with the TPS today.
Any advise? Should I run out to the dealer and drop 160$ on a new key? Could the problem be with the ignition and not my key itself? What do you guys think?
