|Y-Guy||Towing spec for any 1999 Jeep either 2.5 or 4.0 was 2000# but you might check your manual as I had red somebody said theirs was rated for 2500#. The big limiting factor is the short wheel base. Beyond that the current JKs have a maximum 32sq ft rating for the frontal area of an RV/trailer you are towing behind. Many RV trailers are going to be pushing twice that.|

I don't know what the actual Jeep Rating is
But I wouldn't go over 2000 lbs. Your Jeep can pull more- no problem. However, stopping is the problem. With a short wheelbase, you'll find it is MUCH harder to stop a trailer.
I've seen people with Jeeps towing larger trailers and I always give them a wide berth since they are an accident waiting to happen.

What size camper trailer can my Jeep pull "safely"
1999 4.0L with a Hidden Hitch...just seeing what I could pull "safely"..tks
