Nubby55 No the Iron Duke is a GM engine, your 2.5 is a Chrysler.

Engine swap?

Hi, new/old YJ owner here. I just bought an '88 YJ totally stock, with a 2.5 5 speed. The motor has around 188,000 miles on it and it seems a little tired. I'm considering buying a 2.5 engine and rebuilding it while I drive my Jeep. My question is this, will an Iron Duke motor mate up to my bell housing or do I stick to the '87-'90 something motor?
