RoadiJeff Yep, we had our top off for a few days and recently put it back on. It's my wife's DD and she wasn't going to drive it in the rain without the top on, which it's been doing a lot of lately.

Maybe a few more days here and there with the top off before the hot summer arrives but it'll probably stay on during those months and the cold A/C. I just installed a set of Boom Mat headliners that supposedly help reduce the radiant heat.

I have the soft top, but no windows. I figured being that I haven't put it on yet I'd be better off to put the hard top on for the time being. The bikini comes on/off pretty quick, but the soft top would be easier.

Soft top is where it's at. Safari top all summer.
Hey Dave I'd seen you were from E WA and wondered if you were in this neck of the woods. I agree, I've actually had a few arguments with folks that only think we're all like Seattle, I'm thankful that I no longer live on the wet side too. Been a pretty nice spring, but this cold snap sucks big time. Since mine is my DD figured it was time to duck and hide from the rain. But I'm rethinking my future Spring & Fall routine and thinking the Soft Top might be the way to go, save the hard top for Nov-Mar. You know the saying, it's all about the money!

I figure at least the hard top reminds me how much have enjoyed driving topless or with the bikini on. Door less is up next!

TJDave I live in the TC as well. Funny how out of state people always assume we are getting rained on constantly.

Agreed on the false spring we had earlier. Went to safari mode for a couple weeks, then had to put the soft top back on for a spring run calling for blizzard mid April.
<<<See current avatar pic. Safari is back on now, but Jeep is not a DD, and hides in the garage unless it's nice.

My hardtop has been hanging from it's hoist in the garage for almost 3 years without being on the Jeep. Usually it only gets used a couple months a year, except for our last few basically snow-less winters.

Soft top is where it's at. Safari top all summer.

Wranglin4Life I had when I have had several days of nice weather and then I have to put my top back on. While I am putting it up I usually just shake my head in disappointment. Sucks having to put the top on.

Have you considered a soft top or emergency trail top?

Y-Guy Tweak, actually I live in the desert - many folks don't realize that both Oregon & Washington have deserts, well that's home. 300 days a year of sunshine, or so the Visitor bureau tells us. I hear ya about the random southern T-storms, I don't miss those - they make ours look like running through a sprinkler.

Tweak well you do live in washington! I would kill for 2 weeks of clear weather here. living in an apartment I have to store it at a friends house and with these random 20 minute killer thunderstorms it is just too much of a hassle.

Had to break down and do it... hard top back on

Totally sucks. I had 2 weeks with the top off, about a week with the Bikini on and topless since Saturday. Last week had a quick thunderstorm come through but I was able to head out of work early and got in the garage, just a bit of dampness. However, today while at lunch another thunderstorm rolled through and the sky opened up and the Honda god had fun peeing in my Jeep for over an hour. Bikini did great all dry up front but, the back was soaked and when I backed up all the rain that was sitting in the Bikini top flowed right into the rear of the Jeep.

I pulled the carpet and the 3 towels I had put down this morning, but still had water in the rear. Thankfully I popped the two caps and drained it out and I've got 2 fans running in the rear seat and back to dry things out. But with more rain in the forecast I had to hoist the White Flag and put the hard top back on.

The good news out of it was the wife said I think you really need to order your room hoist!!!
