kidding aside.. it's an easy mod and not very technical..

a little background about diffs and breathers:
your diffs are filled with gear oil that expands when it gets hot so in order to not build up too much pressure, they are vented so it's an open system. Now if you were to go through a water crossing, those vents could suck in water so they have tubes that extend upward. Some guys like a little extra protection so they splice in some fuel line to route the top of the vent even higher.

Your transfer case and tranny (if you have an auto) also have tubes but they are pretty high up.

Small filter at the end under the wheel well?

Barmanvarn Ha. Found it hiding behind the axle. Reconnected. All is well.
05-22-2013 11:36 PM
Barmanvarn I'm not seeing any disconnected hoses. That's the odd thing.
05-22-2013 11:34 PM
traitor08 I did when I installed my rk lift. I put in a longer tube, routed higher in case of high water.

That's kinda what I was thinking.

Looks like something should be attached to it. Was worried I pulled something loose installing my latest lift.

SilverSport If it has a hose attached to it (or should have), it is the vent for the diff.

Help identify this please?

Can't take a pic at the moment.

Noticed a kind of metal fitting sticking out of the top of the rear axle, to the right of the diff.

Not sure how I never noticed it before.
