whitebomber The JK 4dr is a pretty awesome looking rig. I think they hit the mark with the 4-dr styling. I do like the TJ better when it comes to a 2-dr.

Bottomline though is every model I pass I enjoy checking out!

05GT-O.C.D. Plastic grille? Oh man, I never knew that.

GA_TJ I am NOT a fan of the JK 4door look. The 2door JK's are okay to me, but I'd much rather have the TJ because of the I6 4.0.... That engine is tried and true to me, and they're damned near indestructible. It's not that I don't trust the JK engine. It's that it has not been time-tested and proven.

79thump The TJ has more metal in it than the JK. You can push the metal in with your finger on the JK. And the plastic grill on the JK is an insult to the Jeep's toughness. I hear that the JK is still very capable off road, but I would like to see some more metal thrown back into the body. My TJ's have been tested over the years. Hail storms, hit by a Direct TV van, and last but not least - I was hit by a drunk driver twice in less than 30 seconds and forced into a Cingular Wireless sign at 45 miles an hour. The TJ's held up well and were back on the road in less than a week. Pretty tough vehicles!

h2otoo Well, I like my JK. Never had a TJ, Liked my CJ I had 20+ years ago. Never did get use to the rectangular head lamps on the YJ. Although my J10 had them, come to think of it. I think I liked the M151 Uncle Sam let me drive. Ya, I vote for that over the M37 3/4 ton Dodge, or the "new" 5/4 Jeeps that replaced that. Just my .02 cents.

brekfustuvluzerz i'll keep my TJ and buy my wife a nice shiny JK.

MOz The JK's are also growing on me. At first I must admit I did not like them at all. However, the aftermarket parts are making their way onto the newer platforms and they are appealing. Don't care for the stock fender flares at all but that is a minor detail.

I'm optimistic some day I will move into a JK down the road....5-7 years. It took me 20 years to move from a CJ to a TJ and I must say (no disrespect to the CJ owners) but I really like the improvements.

For now, I'm sticking to the TJ.

I heard that (no pun intended). We took my wife's equinox out of town yesterday and it was almost too quiet of a ride.

meyers I love em all. From the OLD OLD school CJ-2 to the JK The pictures of the JK's in Quadratec are badass, you can make them look great. I love my 02, owned it since new and will never get rid of it. We looked at JK's before we bought our 09 Dodge Journey. For the family comfort the Journey won out. But I could see adding a JK to the garage a few years down the road, and making the TJ the ultimate project vehicle.

I agree. A black 4 door on a 3.5" lift with tube fenders sittin on 37's and 20's looks bad ace for a daily driver.

jpoutlaw I wish my dash was flat and had round gauges.
05-27-2009 09:35 PM
4point I like the longer wheelbase but not the width of the JK. I also like the longer CA's and the fact that it takes less lift to accommodate the same tire. There are a number of other things also.
But I like my TJ it works fine.

WranglerTJS I understand the ones who like the cjs more that the tj or jk but to me the JK is way diffrent from any other model as some has already posted the JK ride of which is like a cadillac and a lil bigger stance. to me the TJ and down are true jeeps but yes some will say im wrong the JK will grow on almost everyone i do love the 4 door which will be nice for a family but im single so im stickin with my TJ
05-27-2009 08:43 PM
jgano23 i like the tj waaay better. the jk's have too many creature comforts for me. when i ride in a wrangler i don't want it to look or feel like a luxury vehicle. in all honesty i'd much rather a cj.

JeepnJim Wow. Eye candy.
05-27-2009 08:30 PM
4Jeepn If by old school you mean one of these vs the new JK.. then my vote is old school.

05-27-2009 08:08 PM
JeepnJim I'll chime in. I drove CJ-5s all through the eighties and early ninties. You know, Levi edition, big lift, dual front shocks, 35" Gumbo Mudders,no spare, side turnout pipes,304 with a Holly dual carb. I never did warm up to the rectangular headlights on the YJ. I drove lifted Cherokees up until this past February when I got an '04 Wrangler X. It's great except for the 3" body lift. I gotta fix that situation. Anyhoos, I pick my TJ as my favorite style maybe 'cause I'm 45 and used to some luxeries such as AC and auto tranny. Now I feel like I'm back in the saddle!

W/ my 2 yr old, I'd love to have a LJ. We'd max out at 2 kids anyways, so the LJ would be perfect.
