|joeg679||I definitely like the look of druatracs and I will probably wind up getting them and putting them on the stock rims because I don't want to spend a ton of money. Once I get new tires, do I have to do anything with the pressure sensors? I've read that some people's don't work after a tire swap.|

Can be a huge difference in handling on pavement between low 40s and low 30s PSI.

Jeeps are light in the back and what you are experiencing is no different than any other 1/2 ton, RWD truck encounters. It is very easy to spin the tires on slick pavement... the first little bit of rain brings all the contaminants to the surface and until it has rained good for a bit the pavement can be very slick.
Throw 100lbs of sand bags in the back... done.

LSD isn't activated by a switch or anything. Anyway, if you want to read up on that (I think it would have been optional on your Jeep model, so check the sticker) it's technically called anti-spin rear differential. Also, your vehicle may or may not have an optional 3.73 axle ratio. If so, depending on what you drove before, and how it was geared, you may need to lighten up on the gas pulling out in the rain. I remember when I went up to 4.56 in my old Jeep from stock. The change from what I was accustomed to driving was very noticeable in the wet when starting off from a stop.
FWIW, my money is on higher tire pressures (easy to check, fix and monitor) and the fact you're driving a very different vehicle that what you have previously.

I'm a little disappointed in you all, to be honest. Only jkjeeper06 has come close to the correct WF answer which would be along the lines of "this problem is best solved through the application of a minimum 2.5" lift and 35" tires".

|redbilly||I run the stock SR-A's as my winter tires and I inflate to 35 psi. I run a selectable locker and have never turned it on on the street. My tires work great in the rain. The MT/R's I run in the warmer months have performed flawlessly as well. I have no experience with the Duelers, but they certainly look like a more capable rain tire than either of my options. Perhaps all that power in the Pentastar is busting the rubber loose....|

|HK_Runner||Generally, you should run 30-32 psi. For larger tires, you can run less. If you run 35-40, the tires will have much less grip in general. Some tires are not very good in rain to begin with but very few. Try checking your air pressure first.|

I have had zero problems with stock Duelers in the rain. I've actually been pretty impressed.
BUT..I will add this...
I think I "would" have problems if I didn't have limited slip.
Did everyone order Trac-Lok?

|Jcgib81||I have the 13 Sahara also with the stock Duelers and have never had a problem with almost 6000 miles in 3 months. Daily driver, in all weather. I did have to correct the tire pressure when I got it as they were maxed out. I went with door sticker psi. Love this jeep.|

He has a Sahara which should 18" wheels and Bridgestone Duelers. Unless the dealer did a switch on him. The Bridgestones have always been a great wet weather tire. I've had several sets on pickups, and they have been great.
Which tires do you have? Check to make sure that they aren't over inflated. Also, if they have less than 200 miles or so, they will be a little squirrely.

I had that issue with the stock sra's, but not with the duratracs, and I'm running them pretty highly inflated.
The sra's also squeaked a lot in low speed turns which bugged me.

|smontesi81||This has been happening with my new 33x12.5x15 Duratracs too! I!researched the crap out of them before I purchased them and all the reviews I read said they were great in the rain. Could it be the inflation??|

|SouthTJ||Check that your tires are not over inflated. I had some MT/Rs that I had too much pressure in and I would slide everywhere in the rain. Once I lowered them, I was all good.|

Are the stock tires this bad?
I'm not sure if the stock tires are bad or if there is some other problem, but I have poor traction. I have a '13 unlimited sahara and I noticed that when the ground is when and when I come from a complete stop to stepping on the gas, I am skidding out. This has happened on all types of roads near my house and I've driven on the same roads, in the same way (not flooring it) with my sister's VW, a BMW, escalade and a bunch of other cars and this hasn't happened. Is this a traction control thing or is it a tire issue?
