Bielzebub It sounds like you may be up the creek. If you are electronically inclined, open the head unit up and see if you can see anywhere on the circuit that it may have fried. It doesn't always look black, but it can once it fries. Also look for any excess water. I know it's been a few days since you washed it, but sometimes water can sit in an enclosed space for quite a while.

Either you can go that route or since you already have it out, get a 1 gallon zip lock bag, put the head unit it in, and pour some rice in around it. Don't get any in the CD or USB port, but get it around it the unit. Seal it up and let is sit for about a day, then try again. I did this with an older cell phone and it dried it out and worked like nothing happened.

Wattapunk If you have an amp, I would make sure to check its fuse and that it's on. You can pull the radio, disconnect all speaker connections and then pull a speaker and hook directly to a radio speaker output to test the radio.

PiePuncher I have fried a few receivers in the rain but never by washing. Were you freely spraying over the top or into tub? If you turned it on while wet, it's possible you fried it. I have killed a pioneer and Kenwood excellon receiver w water but have yet to lose an alpine. I think it's just luck of the draw. If you are not getting sound out of any speakers, pull dash, pull radio, check all wires and fuses on back of receiver if there is any plug back up and see what happens. If nothing, I would say good bye to your receiver.

Jerry Bransford I'd start at all the connectors & use an air compressor hose to blow any remaining moisture out of them & everything else in the audio system that you can get to.

wipke Well still nothing today. Where should I start to look for fixing this?

Jerry Bransford I suspect everything will be fine again after giving it more time to dry out completely. Fresh water seldom seriously or permanently harms 12v electronic equipment.

radio help ASAP

I was washing out the Jeep today and when I went to turn it back on the radio would turn on but none of the speakers will work now. I have a 6 speaker sound bar and a vdp 10in sub, the sound bar has power because the over head lights still work. The sub has power also but still no sound the radio seems to be working just fine also. Could it be between the radio and the sound bar in the wiring? Or under the dash on the driver side where all the connectors are? Or any fuses that I may have missed.?

Checked the radio fuse and the sub fuse the sound bar is all in closed so can't see anything in there. It has now dried out for a day and a hafe and still nothing.
