Me and a guy from WV got togther and worked out a wheel/tire deal between the 2 of us we drove about 700 miles round trip to get the deal done...and you know what...we were both happy and got a cool story to tell.....

|iNizo||15 may or may not fit.. Be sure about it.. Release the hand break and the breaks after you fit the 15" for testing.. It may fit when the jeep is off but may touch the break caliber when moving..|

|5150Rubicon||I think I have a winner (thanks to this forum) for a tire/wheel combo to put on the stock Unlimited Sport S. 15x8 mate black ET 19 Level 8 Trackers and the tires are Goodyear DuraTrac 33x12.50x15. It seems that, after researching this forum, that this combo will be fine without any mods (suspension, lift, wheel spacers, etc) and will also give a great, aggressive look while not making the wheel wells look too "full". If you have them, have you found the duratracs to perform well in normal daily driving, including rain and snow?|

I bet you will go offroading at least once a month..when you have the jeep you will start wonder around.. I suggest get the stock as is and them move to duratrac 33" with 2.5" lift and then steel bumper and then the story goes on forever...

Following the letter(s) that identify the type of vehicle and/or type of service for which the tire was designed, the three-digit numeric portion identifies the tire's "Section Width" (cross section) in millimeters.
The 225 indicates this tire is 225 millimeters across from the widest point of its outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall when mounted and measured on a specified width wheel. This measurement is also referred to as the tire's section width. Because many people think of measurements in inches, the 225mm can be converted to inches by dividing the section width in millimeters by 25.4 (the number of millimeters per inch).
225mm / 25.4 = 8.86"
Sidewall Aspect Ratio
Typically following the three digits identifying the tire's Section Width in millimeters is a two-digit number that identifies the tire's profile or aspect ratio.
The 50 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 50% of its section width. The measurement is the tire's section height, and also referred to as the tire's series, profile or aspect ratio. The higher the number, the taller the sidewall; the lower the number, the lower the sidewall. We know that this tire size's section width is 225mm and that its section height is 50% of 225mm. By converting the 225mm to inches (225 / 25.4 = 8.86") and multiplying it by 50% (.50) we confirm that this tire size results in a tire section height of 4.43". If this tire were a P225/70R16 size, our calculation would confirm that the size would result in a section height of 6.20", approximately a 1.8-inch taller sidewall.
A letter (R in this case) that identifies the tire's internal construction follows the two digits used to identify the aspect ratio.
The R in the P225/50R16 91S size identifies that the tire has a Radial construction in which the tire's body plies "radiate" out from the imaginary center of the wheel.
and the number after the r signifies the radius of tire so
so its the 1st number x the second number divided by 100 x 2 + the radius listed is the height of the tire (but they are not exactly as described because they compress when seated on the wheel and under load so effectively tires measure a little shorter than the math when on your vehicle)

This is what i did though...i did alot of research on tires. I went with General Grabber AT2s in 275/65-18 they are exactly the same diameter as stock (so the speedo is dead on) but they are almost a full inch wider and they have a much more AT tread. They are also only 2# heavier then stock, (so no real excess wear & tear on the drivetrain) and they have a load rating very close to stock (a tad higher) so they aren't overly stiff. They seem to have good ratings everywhere i looked and so far i am happy. I drive about 500 miles/week and have to go off pavement for work just about every day. So far i am pleased. I haven't had any problems in rain , snow? i don't know, i got them in April. and they aren't very loud. AND they were about $200 / tire...thats not bad
BFG does make their AT tire in 285/65-18 which is just slightly larger(1/2" taller & 3/8" wider) , but they are E rated which means stiffer, they are ALOT heavier..about 15# or 25% heavier and they run about $100/tire more.. and i believe (not 100% certian) that once you get to 285 in width you will get rubbing

|panthermark||The only reason I would say go with a Sport S over base Sport is that you listed a 4 door that would be used as a daily driver......the base Sport does not have an option for power windows or door locks, nor side airbags. But if that is what you are looking for when you say bare bones, then go for it.|

We did exactly what several posters have described, Unlimited X (now called Sport) with the S package. Dealer swapped the tires for BFG KM's for an additional $500, local tire shop would have done it for $700.
For the use the OP described that's probably a great way to go.

Ok Guys and Gals...
I am going to go with the Sport Unlimited. I'm cool with the bare options. Only mod (famous last words...) will be to replace the wheels and tires (29") with something bigger and more aggressive (daily driver, mostly ON-road). Would like to keep the stock backspacing and no wheel spacers.
What wheel/tire combo? Have at it....
