MSCHULTHEIS Certain cargo nets will not fit under a soft top such as the smitty built cres. Some will. I have the safari straps and love them. They attach to the roll bar and fit under the top if you don't use the rear window channel. The only area not covered would be the trunk. I love them. Highly recommend.

Panther57 I have a 2012 2 door and purchased an OEM soft top that came off a 2008 JK from CraigsList for $100. It fits perfect. Last week we had some very heavy rain, and I didn't see a single drop of rain inside the jeep. (I consider myself one of the lucky ones....)

OEM is a good choice but I am assuming you have a Hardtop...might want to consider an " aftermarket" Softtop. Since your use would PROBABLY only be 6 months out of the year.

Aftermarket tops are generally less costly, even though some are "as good as" OEM and some are made by the same company that makes the OEM.

You could "PROBABLY" save a good bit on craigs list...but there have been other people who came back to the Forum trying to figure out what they were missing and why the top didn't "fit" when it was for a different "model" Jeep.

FWIW all "JK" 2 door tops will interchange...is the general statement. However there have been some changes and improvements from year to year. Sorry IDK all the changes. This is part of the reason I would PERSONALLY buy from a Retailer, prices are pretty competitive, and you would have a "warranty" and if you got the "wrong one" you could return it.

Nothing against you but it sounds as if you are fairly new to Jeeps, and may not know if you were getting the "right" parts to start with.

Safer to look at pics on line, read about the tops, and come back and ask questions about specific tops. Than purchase based on what you have learned.

Good LUCK!! You have embarked on your first MOD!!!
Thanks for the response.

I live in Hawaii so I'd more than likely be using the soft top all year haha. I do have a hard top though but I plan on selling it.

I'd prefer to buy from a retailer just as long as the price isn't outrageous.

I really want one that is as close to OEM/Factory as possible. Would this one be my best choice?

MikeK46 The "premium" tops have tinted windows. It takes some practice at first but eventually you'll get the hang of it and it'll be easy. Try craigslist, ebay, online forums...

OEM Sunrider Softtop

I'm looking at purchasing a soft top for my Jeep and had a few questions because there are so many different ones on line it's hard to tell what I'm purchasing. I have a 2013 2Door Jeep by the way;

The new ones from the dealership are called Sunrider Soft tops correct?

Do the windows come factory tinted?

How hard is it to bring down the top?

Can cargo nets be installed under it?

Where is the best place to purchase one of these from?
