IcarusLSC After I undercoated my Jeep, the ac drain would make puddles like you describe. It was in front of the passenger side floors/firewall area. I put a tube on the drain like it should have and its not done it since that I've noticed.

RepairMan Without being there... Maybe the oil out of the steering stabilizer?

MLaborde Taste it. Yeah, taste it. I know, I know... but I didn't say drink it, just a little on your tongue. It wont kill you and it will let you get a true feeling for the viscosity and smell.

XDR We're you using A/C before it showed up? If so probably condensation.

larjeep There's no clear fluid on a jeep except brake and clutch.

migbuz The muffler has a weep hole, could it just be a condensation puddle?

TJinIL Got her up on the ramps, checked all the fluids, scanned her with a flashlight and couldn't find anything wrong, out of place or damp. I'm certainly not a mechanic, but can't find a thing out of place. Very curious! Gonna watch her for a while and see if anything shows signs of dripping?

flflash If she has a Manual trans it could also be clutch hydralic fluid. Check all her fluid levels while your at it!

TJinIL Fluid was mineral oil clear and about the same viscosity. Didn't appear to have any water in it. First thing I'm gonna do is slide under it when it gets back this afternoon. Appears to be driving fine at this point.

Patrick H How oily? How clear? How thick is the fluid? Location wise, it could be the water pump. It's impossible to diagnose without more info. You'll have to slide under the Jeep with a flashlight...

JimsJeep Sounds like it could be the Pinion seal where the front drive shaft attaches to the pinion shaft. Pretty simple fix.

Clear oily fluid

This morning when my daughter took off in our 2000 TJ I noticed a pretty good size puddle of a clear oily fluid under the center of the front end. Any guesses as to what this could be and where I should start looking when she gets home?
