I looked at both when I ordered my Sport S. I knew I would be lifting, which I did!
new suspension,lift and shocks ride much better than stock too..
you will enjoy your new Wrangler!

My 2013 JKU Sport 3.21 auto premium softtop (stock) rides, handles better and is quiet, free from squeaks and rattles. No complaints.
Over the years , I have purchased new a 1983 S-10 Blazer, 1988 S-10 Blazer(both 2 doors), a 1991 S-10 Jimmy 4 -door, and 1999 GMC Yukon 4-door. Other than the 1988, I kept them a minimum of 5 years and ran two up well over 100K miles. The 4dr 1991 Jimmy was the worst- could never get the tailgate window to stop squeaking.Three trans, too.All warranteed.
None of the above equal my 2013 JKU. My JKU is approaching 4K and I have confidence that it'll stay this way

If you are not interested in the additional features or options of the Sahara, don't waste money on it.
I love my Sahara to death, but if were not interested in saddle leather or a painted top, I probably would have gone with a Sport S....especially if I planned on lifting or changing wheels down the road (which I don't plan on doing).

|bengen1||I'd say test drive both and see if you can tell a difference ..then buy the sport s and with money saved get a set of Rancho 9000 XL shocks.|

Both would be fine.
There probably isn't a huge difference.
Sahara has better shocks, Sport S would have more sidewall...so I'm sure both will ride soft.
Noise level? Meh...it's a Wrangler. Not sure how much engine insulation will help.
Handling? I think the better shocks and lower profile sidewall will help the Sahara....but it is still a Wrangler.
However, I'd bet the Sport S wheels are much lighter than the Sahara wheels...especially the 2013 Sahara wheels.

|BManz||I've got a 2dr 2012 Sport-S, auto. No hood insulation. It's quiet IMHO except for the wind noise on windy days at highway speeds. There should be no difference between the Sport and Sahara (maybe the Sahara fenders help quiet wind noise?) as far as noise goes, IMHO. I've been in a 2dr Sahara 2013 recently and it didn't sound any different inside than my Sport. I suppose under full throttle maybe the hood insulation hides some Pentastar snarl, but my ears can't tell. Ride quality I felt my Sport sucked up the bumps better/smoother but at the expense of less agility if driving aggressively. My tush prefers the stock Sport shocks over the Rubi (Sahara) red shocks.|

Ride Quality, Handling, Noise: 2013 Sport S vs. Sahara JKU
I've been going back and forth between which 4-door model to get. I'll be using it on-road only. I'm don't necessarily need the extras or options available on the Sahara. However, the one thing I'm not sure about is whether the Sahara's upgraded suspension with gas shocks, 18" wheels with different tires, and hood insulation make a difference in ride quality, handling or noise levels?
I test drove both but it was tough to tell if there was anything difference in that short period of time. Wondering if you all have noticed any differences or have opinions as to which one would be better suited for on-road / mall crawler use for ride quality?
