I made a footpeg. Rode by tons of cops and nothing yet. It really depends on the cop. Its mo different than having your arm out a window

staticattic D'oh!! I just asked this same question in a new thread, totally missing this thread. I am thinking it really comes down to what kind of mood the cop is in. If a cop pulls a person over soley because of a mirror inspection, I am guessing he/she will be writing a ticket. On the other hand, if a cop pulls a person over for another violation, like speeding or running a red light, they are probably not going to stack violations. I am going to try the convex mirror stuck on my vent just to see how it goes. If everything goes well and I find myself without doors more than with doors, I will invest in some sort of alternate placement mirror idea.

One Mirror

I live next to a cop and asked about this when I got a Jeep. He informed me one mirror is enough as long as you have an unobstructed view behind you.

joeinajeep Cops don't study laws, but many of them slept at holiday inn express.

One mirror is fine in FL:

Halfoftwo I've asked the same thing and I was told that you only need one mirror that can see 200' of the road behind you (cab rear-view mirror). I drove for about a week with no doors and didn't get pulled once. However, it's funny how often I tried to check the mirrors that weren't there. I did order the relocation brackets.

MrSig This is what I did. Bike mirror on the driver hinge $15.00 and 2 - 2" $1.50 in the ac vents.

Wordgie Just get a set of relocation brackets. Around $30-$40

IrateDonnie Thanks for the info, now I get to order mirrors

Wordgie You have to have two mirrors minimum.

Being an LEO for 18 years, I've never pulled, nor heard of anyone pulling for this, though.

Mirror ?

Are the side mirrors required here in Fl? I was wanting to take the doors off but I don't want to get pulled over for not having the mirrors with the doors off. I've had them off a few times with no issues but it seems like FHP is out in force this weekend.
